A Full Circle Moment: Career Day at Clio High School
There are moments in life that make you pause and reflect on your journey—and this was one of them for me. Being invited back to Clio High School for Career Day, the very school I graduated from in 2002 and the community I grew up in and Celestial Farms stands, meant more to me than I can put into words. It was truly a full-circle moment: past, present, and future all meeting in one place.
It Takes A Village
My biggest 'flex' at Celestial Farms is my service, and of course my amazing team. I brought an incredible group of women with me on career day who each play a role not only in my life, but in the wedding industry that has become my passion. Angie from Angela’s Angles Photography, Kylee from Kylee Wilson Media, Yolanda from YOLO Event Services, and Emily from With Love, Emily all joined me. Each of them brought their own talent, heart, and energy just like they do for weddings—and together, we created something truly special for not only me but also all Clio High School students.
The Sunglasses TikTok Idea
I knew we needed to connect with the students in a way that felt fun, authentic and modern so I had the idea to re-create the sunglasses TikTok we often do at weddings. We invited the students—and adults—to participate by welcoming them to our table with ring-pops to sweeten the deal. Angie photographed each person, while Emily hand-lettered custom messages directly onto their sunglasses.
One lens featured a pre-painted Clio-inspired phrase like “Go Clio” or "Clio Strong" and the other lens showcased the participants future career goal. It was simple, creative, fun and incredibly meaningful. Not to toot my own horn, but some of the students said we had the best table there! 🥳

As I walked around introducing myself and asking people if they'd like to participate, Yolanda and Kylee handed out materials about the many career paths within the wedding and events industry. From coordination and styling to media, marketing, and music, they showed students that this industry is multifaceted, and for us it's about teamwork, creativity, and building unforgettable wedding experiences for each and every couple that gets married at our Michigan wedding venue- Celestial Farms!
Capturing It All
Once this wonderful day wrapped up, Kylee worked her editing magic—just like she does at weddings—and created an amazing TikTok using the images Angie captured of each person with their glasses on. Watching it come together was so much fun.
Everyone Joined In
I was so excited about the large number of participants. We had two Clio principals participate, local police officers, a commercial pilot, a flight attendant, members of the military, and of course many Clio High School students.

The Moments That Made Me Laugh (and Tear Up)
Some moments were especially memorable for me. One student—Marissa, my daughter Khloe’s friend—wrote that when she grows up, she wants to be Khloe’s maid of honor. It was silly, sweet, and absolutely perfect for the occasion. It warmed my heart completely.
Another favorite was my husband's friends (Kevin Coombe-a coach at Clio High School) son, Brady Coombe who we adore. In true Brady fashion, his glasses stated that when he grows up, he wants to be Kyle’s manager. That one had me laughing all day!
Yolanda even ran into her niece and nephew during the event and snapped a fun pic with them, making the day feel even more personal.
And another meaningful and full-circle moment for me personally was getting a photo with a former groom who was married at Celestial Farms this past season, and is a Clio teacher. And running into another future groom of ours that's getting married next season! I can't explain how special those moments were to me.
Why Career Day Meant So Much
Career Day at Clio High School wasn’t just about future jobs. It was about showing students that creativity can be a career and you never know when or where you'll find your calling. It might not be where you thought you'd find it. Do what you love. And sometimes the place you start is the place you return to—with purpose.
I’m so grateful to Clio High School for the invitation, to the amazing women who stood beside me and helped bring this vision together, and to every student and community member who participated. This is exactly why I do what I do—and why Celestial Farms is so important to me. #CLIO #MUSTANGS
