  • Mercedes and Matthew's Engagement Shoot with the Best Wedding Photographers Near Me

Mercedes and Matthew- a 2025 Celestial Farms couple had an engagement session with Angela's Angles Photography that was the perfect blend of playful and romantic—just like their love story. Their engagement shoot was split into two unforgettable parts, starting at the White Horse Tavern, a cozy Flint bar with character and charm. With cold drinks in hand and some good ol' greasy-good bar food, they laughed, leaned in close, and fed each other like the flirty, adorable duo they are. The casual atmosphere was relaxed and fun, showing off their personalities in a way that felt absolutely effortless and completely real. It was a reminder that the best photos come from genuine moments—and from choosing wedding photographers near me like Angela's Angles who know how to capture them. If You're Looking for the Best Wedding Photographers Near Me- Angela's Angles Photography is the Perfect Choice The second half of Mercedes and Matthew's engagement session was nothing short of breathtaking. High above downtown Flint on the rooftop of a parking garage, Mercedes and Matthew embraced this unexpected Flint setting with elegance and ease. The city skyline stretched behind them as they shared soft kisses, sweet smiles, and quiet moments of love, laughter and connection. With the wind gently moving her dress and beautiful blonde hair, it felt like a scene out of a movie. Their photographer- Angie- knew exactly how to shift the vibe from playful to passionate—proving that when you’re searching for wedding photographers near me, the right one will bring every part of your unique love story to life. • How to Use ChatGPT to Make Wedding Planning 10x Easier

Planning your dream Michigan wedding is a beautiful journey—but let’s be honest, wedding planning can also feel like juggling on a unicycle… in high heels. But what if you had a super-smart, always-available wedding planning assistant who never gets tired of your questions? And no, I don't mean me-I am flattered you thought so though! - Jen Wilson| Owner and Coordinator, Celestial Farms Say hello to ChatGPT—your new digital maid of honor! No, it’s not replacing your wedding planner or your coordinator, your best friend, or that Type-A aunt who thrives on color coding your wedding decor boxes. Instead, it’s your behind-the-scenes powerhouse: the AI wedding planning tool that helps you breathe a little easier, stay organized, and actually enjoy the process of planning your dream day. Angela's Angles Photography Let’s dive into how engaged couples everywhere are using ChatGPT to slay their wedding planning journey—without losing their minds. "We thought Wedding Planning would be fun... then we met the Seating Chart" -Every couple that chooses assigned seating. 1. Custom Seating Chart Help (Without the Drama) You love your favorite people/ wedding guests… but let’s be real, some just shouldn’t sit next to each other. Whether it’s the two uncles fighting over politics or friends from different life chapters who mix like oil and water, your seating chart can become one of the first major wedding planning stressors. How ChatGPT can help: • Upload your guest list and a few details about each guest- and have ChatGPT group them based on relationships, interests, or social circles. Angela's Angles Photography • Avoid tension by asking it to keep certain wedding guests apart. • Create printable table diagrams or color-coded lists to visualize your layout. • Get clever suggestions for meaningful table names (based on your theme, favorite places, shared memories of your love story, etc.). Example prompt: “Help me group my 100 person guest count into 12 round tables based on their connections. Aunt Carol and Uncle John shouldn't sit together, and I want sorority friends nearest to the dance floor.” Boom—done. 2. Vendor Email Drafts That Sound Like You Tired of re-drafting the same email 12 times to your DJ, trying to sound polite, professional, and still you? ChatGPT is your expert ghostwriter, ready to draft emails that are perfectly laid out, friendly, and to the point. How ChatGPT can help: • Customize emails for florists, DJs, caterers, and more. • Attach Pinterest inspiration and ask the AI to describe your vision. • Ask it to follow up, confirm details, or negotiate politely. Example prompt: “Write an email to my florist asking if she can recreate a Pinterest bouquet I love, but make it work with my fall color palette and $800 budget.” Now you’ve got a beautifully written email that sounds like you wrote it on your best, most put-together day. Angela's Angles Photography 3. Build Your Wedding Day Timeline Without the Guesswork If you’ve ever tried to map out your wedding day minute-by-minute, you know it quickly turns into a logic puzzle. When should hair and makeup start? What time does golden hour hit? When does Grandma eat? How ChatGPT can help: • Create a personalized wedding day timeline based on your getting ready details, ceremony time, travel between locations, dinner, photo schedule, and more. • Adjust for details like first looks, private vows, family photos, outfit changes, etc. • Add buffer times to avoid feeling rushed. At Celestial Farms , Timeline Planning and Coordination is ALWAYS INCLUDED to make Wedding Planning Easy! Example prompt: “Build a timeline with an 8 a.m. venue arrival time, first look at 2:30, a 4 PM ceremony, cocktail hour under the pavilion, 6:00 dinner and sunset photos at 7:45 PM. I want two solid hours of uninterrupted dancing and a sparkler exit at 10:30.” Suddenly, timeline planning makes sense. Angela's Angles Photography 4. Break Down Your Budget Like a Pro Whether you’re working with a $10,000 or a $100,000 wedding budget, every time you cover one expense another pops up. Budgeting for your wedding can sometimes feel like pulling weeds. Every time you pull one, ten more pop up. ChatGPT brings clarity to wedding chaos. How ChatGPT can help: • Creating a budget breakdown based on your total budget and must-haves. • Allocating percentages toward your wedding venue, catering, decor, DJ, photography, etc. • Adjusting the numbers as your priorities shift and you nail down your ultimate vision. (like splurging on a live performer for your ceremony but saving on favors). • Helping you compare vendor quotes or stay under budget in any area with creative ideas. Example prompt: “I have a $25,000 overall budget. My top priorities are entertainment and photography. I’m okay with saving on decor and favors. Can you break down how much I should spend in each category?” Just like that, you get a detailed, custom budgeting plan with flexibility—and no spreadsheets were required. Angela's Angles Photography 5. Song Selector: AI as Your Wedding DJ Assistant Rodney Lamar Page , Photo by Angela's Angles Photography From walking down the ceremony aisle to your first bride and groom dance, music can be one of the most personal aspects of your wedding day. But you don’t need a Master's degree in music or 30 playlists to figure it out. How ChatGPT can help: • Suggest ceremony songs based on your personality and vibe (romantic, classic, funny, country, etc.). • Curate a list of first dance options based on favorite artists or lyrics. • Help with mother-son/father-daughter dance song choices. • Suggest playlist starters for cocktail hour under the pavilion, dinner music in the barn, or dancing under the stars. Example prompt: “I love Taylor Swift, Adele, and Patsy Cline. Can you suggest the top 5 first dance songs that aren’t overplayed but still romantic?” Get a curated list of songs that feel perfect for you—no endless scrolling and hours of listening to spotify required. 6. Wedding Checklist—Tailored to Your Style and Theme Most wedding day checklists are one-size-fits-all, but your wedding at Celestial Farms is anything but generic. ChatGPT can help you create a custom checklist based on your wedding vision. How ChatGPT can help: • Build a custom to-do list based on a Michigan summer beach wedding in Ludington vs. to-do-lists used for barn wedding venues in Michigan like Celestial Farms . • Remind you when to lock in your vendors based on your date. • Include checklists for DIY decorating vs. all inclusive destination weddings to compare. Example prompt: “Create a complete wedding planning checklist for a luxury barn wedding venue like Celestial Farms in Clio, Michigan. It's a June wedding with 150 guests, doing our own centerpieces, and renting linens from the venue.” Suddenly, your wedding planning roadmap is as unique as your love story 7. Write Your Wedding Speech (or Vows) With Heart and Confidence Public speaking isn’t for everyone—but heartfelt words are. ChatGPT can help you find the perfect balance of funny, sweet and sentimental words and speeches that still feel like you. How ChatGPT can help: • Draft heartfelt toasts, best man/maid of honor speeches, or even your private vows. • Add personal anecdotes or inside jokes to the mix. • Edit for tone—funny, romantic, spiritual, casual, whatever feels right. • Offer prompts to spark your creativity if you come to a blank. Example prompt: “Write a champagne toast speech for my best friend’s wedding. We met in college, survived a dorm together, and she once helped me move out of a toxic relationship. I want it to be heartfelt but also kind of funny.” You can then tweak the speech until it sounds like you’re speaking from the bottom of your heart… because you are. 8. Stay Organized, Calm, and Creative—All at Once ChatGPT isn’t just about logistics—it’s about staying sane. The wedding planning process can take over your life if you let it, but AI can help you take back control. Bonus ways ChatGPT can help: • Suggest signature cocktail names based on your pets, personalities, or love story. Custom Cocktails By Cheers to you Bartending and Charcuterie • Generates hashtag ideas, seating chart designs, and welcome sign wording. • Draft social media captions for save-the-dates or special announcements on wedding week. • Offer honeymoon planning tips, destinations, or romantic itinerary ideas. • Brainstorm grand entrance ideas, bridal party gifts, or decor themes. Your new mantra? Use it smart. Use it right. And slay your wedding day without losing your mind. 9. The Truth: AI Isn’t Replacing Planners—It’s Supporting Them Here’s what ChatGPT isn’t: It’s NOT a substitute for a professional (human) planner who works closely with preferred vendors, coordinates seamless and unique timelines, and is constantly saving the day on-site like when I (coordinator for Celestial Farms ) brought in my own photographer minutes before a ceremony started because my client's photographer flaked. Voyage Michigan Interview | Canvas Rebel Interview It’s NOT a substitute for human connection, empathy, or intuition when "spidey" senses kick in.. Yes, it's a thing I have at weddings. Kinda like putting a fire out before it even begins. Here’s what it is: • A 24/7 brainstorming tool. • A time-saver. • A sanity-saver. • A calm and comforting voice in a whirlwind of difficult decisions. Wedding planning and timeline planning is a breeze when couples come in a bit prepared. The Wedding of Your Dreams Is a Few Clicks Closer Keep this in mind, you don’t need to be a tech wizard to use ChatGPT—you just need to ask it the right questions. Whether you’re DIY-ing most of your wedding or working with a dream team of pros like Yolanda, Angie, Casey and I, AI can lighten the load and spark creativity. • How To Prepare For Michigan Tornadoes: Essential Safety Tips

🌪️ The Reality of Michigan Tornadoes Michigan experiences an average of 15 to 20 tornadoes annually, mostly during the spring and summer months. While Michigan tornadoes aren't as frequent as in some other states, they can be equally devastating and dangerous. Yesterday's severe weather events (May 2025)- serve as a stark reminder of the importance of being prepared for these sudden, often devastating events. ⸻ 📜 A Brief History of Notable Michigan Tornadoes The Flint-Beecher Tornado (June 8, 1953) From a very young age I was taught the seriousness of a tornado from my Grandma Huneycutt- a survivor of the the Flint-Beecher tornado. The Flint, Michigan tornado which struck on June 8, 1953 remains the deadliest tornado in Michigan’s history. This horrible event claimed 116 lives and injured over 800 in the Beecher district of Flint, Michigan. It was part of a larger outbreak that swept across several states leaving a trail of destruction. Because my grandmother lived through that tragedy, I was taught at an early age how to prepare for dangerous storms. To this day I can picture her anxiously watching the skies, and preparing for the worst as she waited for storms to pass. We didn't have a basement so when a tornado watch was in affect she would tuck me in a hallway closet with pillows, blankets and flashlights- a cozy little fort that felt like a fun adventure as a child who didn't fully understand the dangers outside. Then she would fill jugs and the bathtub with water, gather batteries, candles and flashlights, and prep our kerosene lamps in case we lost power. Wade and Thelma Huneycutt on their wedding day- survivors of the 1953 Michigan tornado Palm Sunday Outbreak (April 11, 1965) Another devastating day for Michigan was on April 11, 1965- when we were struck by multiple tornadoes, resulting in 53 fatalities across the state. Branch County was particularly hard-hit, with 18 total deaths. This Michigan tornado disaster led to significant changes in our warning systems. The term "tornado forecast" was changed to "tornado watch" which was more easily understood by the public. Another significant change- civil defense sirens were repurposed as outdoor warning systems which was important because many people are outside during the beautiful Michigan spring/summer season. Recent Events: May 15, 2025 Our beautiful great lake state had severe storms sweep through last night, (May 15, 2025) causing widespread damage and power outages. Approximately 240,000 Michigan residents lost power, (Celestial Farms wedding venue in Clio, Michigan was spared) with Van Buren County being among the hardest hit. The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-0 tornado near Battle Creek and an EF-1 from Charlotte to Lansing. Current reports are stating 19+ tornadoes touched down across Michigan last night and they are still investigating some areas. These storms served as a stark reminder of the lessons my Grandma Huneycutt instilled in me so many years ago. Thelma (Grandma) Huneycutt 🧠 Understanding Tornado Alerts: Watch vs. Warning • Tornado Watch : Conditions are favorable for tornadoes to form in the area. Stay alert and be prepared to take action quickly. • Tornado Warning : A tornado has been sighted or detected by radar indicating imminent danger. Seek shelter immediately without hesitation! It’s crucial to have multiple ways to receive these life saving alerts such as smartphone apps, radios and local news broadcasts to assure you receive life saving information immediately. 🛠️ Preparing for a Tornado 1. Create an Emergency Plan • Identify Safe Locations: Determine the safest place to seek shelter in and around your home, a basement is ideal or an interior room without windows. • Establish Communication: Ensure all family members know how to contact each other during emergencies and discuss a meeting place if you are separated. 2. Assemble an Emergency Kit Essential items include: • Non-perishable food and water for at least three days for the people in your home • Battery-powered radios • Flashlights and extra batteries of different kinds • First aid kit is a must • Medications for at least a few days should be stored in a backpack and personal hygiene items will be helpful too • Important documents in a waterproof container such as ID's, passports, health insurance cards, title to your home, will, etc. 3. Secure Your Property • Trim trees and remove dead branches near your home to minimize potentially dangerous debris. • Secure outdoor items that could become projectiles such as patio furniture, trampolines, etc. • Reinforce doors and windows if possible 🌀 During a Tornado • Seek Shelter Immediately: Go to your designated agreed upon safe location. • Protect Yourself: Use heavy blankets or mattresses to shield against falling debris. • Avoid Windows: Flying glass can cause serious and even fatal injuries • Stay Informed: Keep a fully charged cell phone- (extra charging banks are a great idea)- and a battery-powered radio with you to receive updates. 🧹 After the Tornado • Wait for Official All-Clear: Ensure all danger has passed before leaving your designated safe location. • Check for Injuries: Check on your loved ones and your neighbors if possible and provide first aid and/or seek medical attention if necessary. • Avoid Hazards: Watch out for deadly downed power lines, gas leaks, and structural damage. • Document Damage: Once you're safe, be sure to take photos of all damages for insurance purposes. ⸻ 📚 Resources for Further Information • Michigan State Government: Tornado Preparedness • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC): Tornado Safety • National Weather Service: Find your area Michigan tornadoes, while less frequent than other states, still pose a significant threat as we experienced last night. By understanding the risks, properly preparing, and staying informed during severe weather, you can protect yourself and your loved ones. As a wedding venue, our typical blog posts are about all things wedding, but last night’s storms felt like a powerful reminder to pause and talk about something just as important—preparedness. As tornado warnings swept through our beautiful state, I was reminded how quickly weather can turn severe. It felt like the right time to share a few thoughts (and some tips) on staying safe when severe storms roll in. Celestial Farms is a locally owned and operated business. • Top 12 Save The Date Trends We've Seen at Wedding Venues Near Me

At Celestial Farms wedding venue in Clio, Michigan—and many other wedding venues near me—we’ve had the joy of watching couples announce their wedding dates in the most unique ways. The save-the-date is more than just a heads-up; it’s a sneak peek for your guests about your love story and the vibe of your big day. Whether you’re planning an over-the-top luxury wedding or an intimate budget friendly celebration, these top 12 save-the-date trends will help you set the tone in style. Save-the-Date Trends We Love at Wedding Venues Near Me 1. Newspaper-Style Save-the-Dates One of the most popular trends we’ve seen recently at wedding venues near me is the newspaper-style save-the-date. Whether it’s a miniature version or a full-sized newspaper layout, this idea is full of charm and personality and so easy to add loads of information. Couples often include: • A “Love Story” feature about the couple • A fun word search with the couple's names, their pets names, etc. • Venue details (like the location of our modern barn here at Celestial Farms) • Engagement photos or snapshots from the couple over the years Not only is a newspaper save the date nostalgic, but it’s also a fun and interactive keepsake your guests won’t toss. ⸻ 2. Digital Save-the-Dates (TikToks, Etsy Templates & DIY) With more couples embracing technology and looking to save money, digital save-the-dates are a big win for many reasons. Here are some ideas for your digital save the date: • Trending TikTok-style videos with voiceovers and music • Custom video templates from Etsy-almost like a mini videography movie • DIY video invites using Canva for free Here's a fun little Tiktok save the date Casey and I did for an open house at Celestial Farms Not only do these options save money on printing and postage, but they also allow you to showcase your unique personalities, your wedding venue, and even a sneak peek of your wedding theme. ⸻ 3. Keychain Save-the-Dates Keychains are small and practical, but they can be surprisingly sentimental. Imagine every time your guest grabs their car keys, they’re reminded of your big day. At several wedding venues near me, we’ve seen couples choose: • Simple engraved keychains with their names and date • Mini photo viewers with an engagement pic inside and the date on the outside ⸻ 4. Unique Paper Save-the-Dates Paper is far from boring when you think outside the box. We’ve seen styles like: • Library cards with a “check out our wedding” theme • Concert or festival ticket replicas for those couples that love music • Passports for destination weddings or couples that love travel • Scratch-offs to reveal the wedding date for those lottery loving couples We love the library card style for book loving couples. This design is from CorksandClovers on Etsy Anything that reflects the couple’s style and story is going to be a hit at wedding venues near me ⸻ 5. Dress Code Save-the-Dates Setting the tone of your wedding day early helps your guests feel prepared and excited. That’s why dress code save-the-dates are trending at wedding venues near me. Whether it’s: • A black tie affair • A “wear a certain color family” event • Casual or themed attire Postcards or traditional paper mailers explaining what to wear make a great impression on your guests and show thoughtful planning. Guests at wedding venues near me appreciate knowing what to expect from the start, because figuring out what to wear at a wedding is difficult enough. Your guests will know they'll blend in with this guidance. Check out this example on Zazzle. ⸻ Engagement Photos can be added to almost any save-the-date you choose! 6. Funny Save-the-Dates A little humor can go a long way. We’ve seen so many hilarious save-the-dates that made guests smile, laugh and look forward to your big day. Some crowd favorites: • Childhood photos with the caption “These kids are getting married” • Sarcastic one-liners like “Now you can stop asking” or “Bout f*cking time” • Custom caricatures (especially if a caricature artist is booked for the wedding day) • “Free drinks, so show up” kind of messaging. Very straightforward for those no nonsense couples These types of save-the-dates will set a fun tone for your celebration. ⸻ 7. Edible Save-the-Dates Food is always a love language—and now edible save the dates are are trending too. Couples at wedding venues near me have delighted their guests with: • Custom cookies with their names and wedding date • Wrapped hard candies or candy bars with personalized labels • Mini jars of local honey, nutella, jam or condiments the couples enjoy with a custom label They’re sweet, memorable, usable and give your guests a literal taste of what’s to come. Custom Celestial Farms cookies by SugarHigh Bakery ⸻ 8. Coaster Save-the-Dates Functional and cute, coaster save-the-dates are a hit at wedding venues near me. Options include: • Cork or wood coasters engraved with the wedding date and details • Printed coasters with a fun graphic or photo of the couple • Coasters that double as drink recipes or bar menus for your wedding day We’ve seen these pop up at many wedding venues near me, and guests tend to hold onto coasters long after the wedding. ⸻ 9. Candle Save-the-Dates Nothing sets a cozy, romantic vibe like a good candle. Personalized candle save-the-dates add ambiance to any home and can be as simple as a custom label on a small candle, or a personalized scent the couple created or even a hidden message in the candle after you start burning it which is a new fun trend we love. Candles can include: • Custom labels with your wedding date and venue location • Scent themes that match your wedding (e.g., “Summer Love” or "Winter bliss" • Small jars or travel tin candles, affordable and easy to ship or hand-deliver Mix and match travel tin candles with larger more custom candles for those extra special guests. ⸻ 10. Handkerchief Save-the-Dates “For your happy tears” is a timeless phrase that feels perfect for a save-the-date handkerchief. We’ve seen them embroidered or printed, often paired with soft hues or floral patterns which make them feel authentic. Found on Etsy These make lovely keepsakes and are especially fitting for parents, grandparents, and those extra special guests. They don't have to be for every single guest, just the ones you know will be shedding many happy tears on your wedding day. ⸻ 11. Magnet Save-the-Dates Practical and budget-friendly, magnets are a forever favorite that your guests will see every day when placed on their refrigerator. Magnets are one of the most popular choices for practicality reasons. They’re: • Affordable • Easy to mail • Highly visible on guests’ refrigerators for months Custom designs can include your photo, wedding date, venue details, and even QR codes to your wedding website for guests to look further into the details for the big day. ⸻ 12. Viewfinder Save-the-Dates (Luxury Trend) This one’s a bit pricier for the couples dreaming big or keeping it small and luxe. Custom viewfinders (yes, like the toys from childhood) are making a major comeback for save the dates. Inside, couples include: • A reel of engagement photos or a mix of engagement and childhood photos • A save-the-date image with information about the date and location • A personal message or teaser for the wedding day to build anticipation They’re especially popular for micro weddings, destination celebrations, or when the couple wants something completely unique and unforgettable. Wedding venues near me agree, this one will wow your guests! Make Your Save-the-Date As Unique As Your Love Story At Celestial Farms wedding venue—and many other wedding venues near me—we believe your save-the-date should be memorable, meaningful and personal to you. • A Room With a View: One of the Nashville Wedding Venues That Left Me Inspired

Address: 1305 Clinton Street, Suite 320, Nashville, TN 37203 When you're a small business owner, and especially when you work in the wedding industry, it’s easy to get swept up in the whirlwind of wedding planning, and constantly prepping your venue for the next couple who is trusting you with one of the biggest days of their lives. But every once in a while, it’s important to step away from the scene—not to rest, but to grow. That’s exactly what I did when I joined a group of fellow locally owned wedding venue owners from across the country for a working vacation in Nashville, TN. And let me just say, Nashville wedding venues do not disappoint. One of the highlights of my trip was without a doubt: A Room With a View at 1305 Clinton Street, Suite 320. This unique hidden gem is tucked inside the historic Marathon Village and offers more than just a pretty space for weddings. It offers an entire experience. The venue itself is stunning with it's old world charm, but what made it unforgettable was the story of it's beginning, the owner aka daughter of the man who started the business many years ago, the history—and, okay fine, the Jack Daniel’s tasting didn’t hurt either. Let’s dive into what makes one of my favorite Nashville wedding venues so special, what I learned from the other owners on this working vacation, and why I walked away inspired, energized, and even more in love with this crazy wedding world I now live in. Nashville Wedding Venues Near Me That INSPIRE: A Room With A View, 1305 Clinton Street, Suite 320, Nashville, Tennessee 37203 Stepping Into History at 1305 Clinton Street From the moment our bus pulled up to A Room With a View , I felt like I had traveled through time. The wedding venue sits on the third floor of the old Marathon Motor Works building—a factory that once produced some of America’s first cars (some on display) in the early 1900s. The character of the space is undeniable: original hardwood floors, exposed brick walls with beautiful patterns and detail, iron beams, massive windows, and charming views. You can tell that this event space isn't trying to look rustic—it’s authentically industrial and elegantly rustic. The entire vibe screams history-meets-modern-glam, and it would be a dream wedding experience for any couple looking at Nashville wedding venues that are wanting that “chic downtown meets vintage grit” aesthetic that Nashville has become famous for. I too strive for not just a beautiful wedding backdrop but an authentic wedding experience at our venue- Celestial Farms in Clio, Michigan . So I really connected with this one. ⸻ A Multi-Business Powerhouse One of the things I loved most about this Nashville, Tennessee venue is that it’s not just a venue. A Room With a View is actually home to five different businesses on the property. That synergy creates an old world community vibe that’s rare in the wedding world. At A Room With A View , you don’t feel like you’re walking into a sterile, one-size-fits-all rental space—you feel like you’re entering someone’s creative playground- and you are! I especially loved hearing the owner talk about how her father was quite the bachelor in his days, and frequently hosted parties in the space that's now a wedding venue. And as a venue owner who's event space has family history, that hit me in all the feels. Every inch of the building feels intentional and authentic. ⸻ The Jack Daniel’s Experience (aka one of my favorite activities from this trip) Okay, let’s talk about the Jack Daniel’s tasting experience because… wow! It was the single most fun and interactive experience on the entire tour of Nashville wedding venues. Set inside the property itself, just across the street from the event space, this experience combined storytelling, sipping, and a whole lot of laughs. It reminded me of the moonshine tasting in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge which is one of my favorite vacation destinations. For engaged couples either local to TN or those searching for a unique destination wedding location, this is the kind of touch that transforms a great celebration into an unforgettable one. It’s one thing to have a signature drink—it’s another to give your guests an actual Jack Daniels tasting tour right inside your wedding venue. Who else can say they got a whiskey tasting experience on their wedding day? That, my friends, is what sets A Room With a View apart from other Nashville wedding venues and wedding venues across the nation. It’s not just about beautiful photos—it’s about creating fun and beautiful memories. ⸻ Learning from the Best in the Business As much as I loved touring the venue itself, the real gold of this trip came from the conversations and education I had with fellow venue owners. This was a group of smart, passionate, driven locally owned wedding venue friends from across the U.S. who are all doing incredible things in their own hometowns. We shared ideas, traded tips and advice, talked through our pain points, and celebrated the wins that only other wedding venue owners truly understand. There’s definitely something powerful about being in a room with people who “get it.” People who know what it’s like to work under pressure- 18 hour work days, rewrite timelines on the fly, hold the hand of a nervous bride, or fix a wardrobe malfunction pre-ceremony while pretending you’re not panicking inside. The first night of the trip, someone said, “You can’t pour into others if your cup is empty,” and it hit me hard. That’s what this trip was: a refilling of my cup. My first solo trip of my entire life and I got to experience it surrounded by other proud but humble wedding venue owners ⸻ Inspiration Around Every Corner Walking through A Room With a View gave me dozens of ideas I want to bring back to my own venue. Each and every space felt effortless but elevated. But it wasn’t just about unique design. It was about the history you feel in that space. You feel welcomed and "part of the family". You felt humbled and inspired. Every little detail—from the staircase leading to the event space to the signage and branding—was curated to make guests feel special. That’s something you can’t fake. The IT factor- It’s either in the DNA of the business, or it’s not. And here? It absolutely is. ⸻ Why Nashville Wedding Venues Like This One Stand Out I’ve visited plenty of venues, but Nashville wedding venues have a magic all their own. There’s something about the energy in this city—part Southern hospitality, part creative grit—that makes every space feel like it has a soul. At A Room With a View , that soul shines bright. The location alone—right in Marathon Village—is enough to draw in couples looking for something truly one-of-a-kind. The surrounding area is filled with artisan shops, breweries, a distillery, and so much interesting history. It feels both urban and intimate. And if you’re someone who values charm and character over cookie-cutter ballrooms like me, this spot is your dream. ⸻ Bringing It All Back Home As I flew back to Michigan and returned to Celestial Farms , I felt a renewed sense of purpose. Being in Nashville reminded me that wedding venues are more than just four walls. They’re storytelling spaces. They’re the backdrops to some of life’s most important moments. And when you do it right—when you combine beautiful aesthetics with exceptional service—you create something lasting. I want to thank A Room With a View for opening your doors to this wedding venue owner from Michigan. And thank you to all of the owners, their teams, and every venue boss I met on this trip. And especially Didi Russell -wedding nerd, our leader, our wedding expert, you lit a spark in me, filled my cup, and I'm bringing that renewed energy back to every bride, groom, and wedding guest who walks through my barn doors at Celestial Farms. ⸻ If you’re a couple looking for a great destination wedding location, or Nashville wedding venues that are as full of personality as they are professionalism, make sure to tour A Room With a View. Located at 1305 Clinton Street, Suite 320 in Marathon Village, this venue offers a taste of history, a taste of whiskey, unforgettable views, unmatched vibes, and experiences that go far beyond the typical. And if you’re another venue owner reading this? Join our group for the next working vacation. Go see what others in our industry are doing. Learn. Be inspired. Your couples will feel the difference. ⸻ Explore A Room With a View: Website: https://aroomwithaviewnashville.com Address: 1305 Clinton Street, Suite 320, Nashville, TN 37203 Celestial Farms is a locally owned and operated business. • Travel Hacks: From Honeymoons to Family Vacations in Europe | What I've learned Along my Travels

LEANING TOWER OF PISA in Pisa, Italy Travel Hacks: Travel Smarter, Not Harder Utilize Your Carry-On Like A Pro One of the smartest travel hacks to understand is how to treat your carry-on like it's a lifeline- not just extra luggage to drag around. IF it's at all possible to only bring a carry-on and not check any luggage, you'll have such a better airport experience by not dealing with checked luggage and worrying about losing anything. Either way, your carry-on should be packed with your essentials, valuables, irreplaceable items, medicine, documents and anything you can't afford to lose. Think jewelry, chargers, prescriptions, important documents for travel and an outfit or two that is versatile. Lost luggage happens. If you have a great carry-on it won't derail your vacation entirely. EIFFEL TOWER in Paris, France Use TSA Pre-Check If you plan on traveling more than once or twice a year, TSA pre-check is a game changer. On my recent trip to Nashville, TN I used CLEAR. There was a kiosk at the airport entrance and it took only a few minutes to sign up and I was on my way, skipping LONG security lines. I felt like I was breaking the rules it was so easy. It ' s a stress-saver. Especially if you're the type of person who's always running late. Even the calmest travelers get stressed out in long security lines at the airport. It's hard to determine how long you'll be standing there for. These pre-check programs let you skip the lines and the chaos and get to your gate in record time. Bring Portable Chargers CINQUE TERRE in Italy Nothing is more frustrating than watching your phone battery die down to 3% when you are navigating a new city, lining up transportation, and locating boarding passes. There are so many different types of charging banks for your cell phones, computers, and more. They're a lifesaver. When traveling, you never know when you'll have a chance to wait for your devices to get a full charge. And you'll be using your phone for everything- Ubers, looking up the destinations you're visiting, making reservations and more. A portable charger gives you peace of mind. I always take at least two with me when I travel. Then when you get to your hotel you can charge them up overnight and you'll be prepared for the next full day of activities. It's one of the simplest ways to reduce stress when traveling. And always keep it in your carry-on as some batteries aren't allowed in checked luggage. CATACOMBS OF PARIS in Paris, France Don't Overpack Choose your clothes wisely. You never wear every item of clothing you bring. This is something I struggle with. Of course you want your favorite cocktail dress and high heels, but if you don't necessarily have a specific need for them-don't bring them. It's a waste of space in your luggage and a waste of time. Bring clothes that are versatile. Clothes you can layer in different ways and re-wear to look like completely different outfits. Try to use the 3x3 method of packing. P ick three tops, three bottoms and three layering pieces (cardigans, blazers, coats, etc). Then lay the items out into a 3 x 3 grid. Mix and match each item to create separate outfits. This will save time, space, and make packing and carrying your luggage so much easier. Stoicism-Be Flexible SAGRADA FAMILIA in Barcelona, Spain Flexibility is everything when you travel. Embrace a stoic mindset. That's a travel hack for anyone going anywhere. Adopting a little stoicism when traveling means understanding and accepting that not everything is always going to go according to plan. Expect some things to NOT go according to plan. Remind yourself: this is part of the adventure. You just can't let things steal your joy when you're doing once in a lifetime things. Instead of aiming for perfection, aim for presence and living in the moment. Travel is never flawless, make a backup plan for everything and have the time of your life! Travel Hacks: Less Stress, More Adventure! Pack a Foldable Duffel bag POMPEII near Naples, Italy This is the most underrated travel hack in my opinion- pack an extra foldable duffel bag in your luggage. Don't worry about running out of space at the end of your trip when you've been souvenir shopping the entire time. A duffel bag is an easy item to check. Keep your dirty laundry in it so you can use your hard shell luggage for keepsakes and souvenirs. Plus, your dirty laundry won't be touching everything else. Even if you planned on only bringing a carry-on, packing a duffel bag at the bottom of your bag is going to give you so much versatility on the way home. You just never know if you'll have a spontaneous shopping spree, or when you'll find an amazing market or hand crafted local art. Plan ahead, and if you don't use it on the way home you might use it during your trip as a beach bag with your hotel towels or snacks for the day. AMALFI COAST in Amalfi, Italy SHOES -Comfort Over Quantity For our last travel hack, let's be honest with ourselves for a minute.. we always walk WAY more than we're expecting on a vacation. And the terrain might be cobblestone streets, sandy beaches, or airport terminals that are way further than expected. Choosing a shoe that is both comfortable and worn-in is crucial. It's non-negotiable. I agree- it's tempting to bring a heel in every color for every outfit. But in reality we'll be spending MOST of our time in tennis shoes. It's ok to bring one cute pair of shoes that will match all of your dresses, but it's not necessary to bring more than a couple pairs of shoes when you travel. I'm a serial over-packer. I learned the hard way when I took a trip across Europe and had to haul a HUGE suitcase across multiple countries, trains, planes, and automobiles. Only to spend 99% of my time in the same shoes and same few versatile articles of clothing. Never again. STONEHENGE in England Thanks so much for stopping by our blog! Romantic Getaways Near Me 1. Ludington State Park – For Beachside Proposals and Sunset Walks Ludington holds a special place in my heart. It's where I said "I do". With miles of sand dunes, beautiful lake Michigan beaches, and the famous Big Sable Point Lighthouse, Ludington is a dream location for a beachside engagement or anniversary picnic- or in my case an intimate wedding. Pro tip: Plan your visit during golden hour for that picture-perfect sunset shot. If you’re planning to propose, bring a blanket, a charcuterie board by our favorites at Plated with Luv, and a hidden talented photographer like Angie with Angela's Angles Photography LLC—or just keep it sweet and simple and capture some candids. 2. Tahquamenon Falls State Park – For Waterfall Romance You can’t beat the Upper Peninsula for views and iconic waterfalls. Tahquamenon is perfect for nature-loving couples who want to soak in jaw-dropping Michigan views.Engagements on the viewing deck are common, and let me tell you—nothing beats the moment when someone drops to their knee with the sound of rushing waterfalls in the background. 3. Holland State Park – For Coastal Vibes and Lighthouse Love If you’re dreaming of a lovely Lake Michigan backdrop with a boardwalk, boats, and that beautiful red lighthouse glow, Holland is a must-see. It’s a favorite for couples taking engagement photos—many of whom end up celebrating their dream wedding later with us at Celestial Farms . I love when our couples bring the same romantic energy from their engagement story into their wedding day, and we love making each wedding unique. 4. Sleepy Hollow State Park – For Local Charm and Secluded Spots Not far from Celestial Farms wedding venue, Sleepy Hollow offers beautiful wooded trails, serene lakes, and quiet spots perfect for a picnic or an anniversary lunch or a “just because” romantic date. It’s also a great pre-wedding escape from the busy wedding planning process—sometimes a walk in nature is the best stress relief and Michigan State Parks have everything you're looking for. 5. Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park – For Adventure Lovers For adventurous couples who love hiking, camping, and truly getting off the grid, Michigan's Porcupine Mountains offer unforgettable views and a shared sense of adventure. If you’re thinking of an outdoorsy marriage proposal or a weekend away to celebrate your engagement, this rugged Michigan gem is the spot. ⸻ 6. Belle Isle Park (Detroit) – For Urban Meets Nature Belle Isle combines nature with city skyline views, making it ideal for Detroit-area couples. It’s a fantastic choice for engagement photos, a romantic date night walk, or even a surprise proposal near the James Scott Memorial Fountain. And when it’s time to say “I do,” many of our couples from the city love heading just an hour north to celebrate their wedding weekend with us at Celestial Farms . ⸻ Making the Moment Yours No matter which Michigan State Park you choose, the most romantic moments are always the ones that feel personal to your love story . You don’t need a big production—just a little intention, a meaningful location, and someone you love to share it with. If you’re planning a marriage proposal  in one of these amazing Michigan state parks , I always say: personalize it. Maybe it’s bringing your dog to the same trail where you’ve hiked together for years. Or maybe it’s a champagne toast tucked into your picnic basket. If you need a little extra help planning the perfect engagement surprise, Celestial Farms would love to share some creative ideas! From the Park to the Aisle After the “yes,” you’ll really start thinking about how you want your wedding day to look. That’s where Celestial Farms wedding venue  comes in.
