- A Room With a View: One of the Nashville Wedding Venues That Left Me Inspired
Address: 1305 Clinton Street, Suite 320, Nashville, TN 37203 When you're a small business owner, and especially when you work in the wedding industry, it’s easy to get swept up in the whirlwind of wedding planning, and constantly prepping your venue for the next couple who is trusting you with one of the biggest days of their lives. But every once in a while, it’s important to step away from the scene—not to rest, but to grow. That’s exactly what I did when I joined a group of fellow locally owned wedding venue owners from across the country for a working vacation in Nashville, TN. And let me just say, Nashville wedding venues do not disappoint. One of the highlights of my trip was without a doubt: A Room With a View at 1305 Clinton Street, Suite 320. This unique hidden gem is tucked inside the historic Marathon Village and offers more than just a pretty space for weddings. It offers an entire experience. The venue itself is stunning with it's old world charm, but what made it unforgettable was the story of it's beginning, the owner aka daughter of the man who started the business many years ago, the history—and, okay fine, the Jack Daniel’s tasting didn’t hurt either. Let’s dive into what makes one of my favorite Nashville wedding venues so special, what I learned from the other owners on this working vacation, and why I walked away inspired, energized, and even more in love with this crazy wedding world I now live in. Nashville Wedding Venues Near Me That INSPIRE: A Room With A View, 1305 Clinton Street, Suite 320, Nashville, Tennessee 37203 Stepping Into History at 1305 Clinton Street From the moment our bus pulled up to A Room With a View , I felt like I had traveled through time. The wedding venue sits on the third floor of the old Marathon Motor Works building—a factory that once produced some of America’s first cars (some on display) in the early 1900s. The character of the space is undeniable: original hardwood floors, exposed brick walls with beautiful patterns and detail, iron beams, massive windows, and charming views. You can tell that this event space isn't trying to look rustic—it’s authentically industrial and elegantly rustic. The entire vibe screams history-meets-modern-glam, and it would be a dream wedding experience for any couple looking at Nashville wedding venues that are wanting that “chic downtown meets vintage grit” aesthetic that Nashville has become famous for. I too strive for not just a beautiful wedding backdrop but an authentic wedding experience at our venue- Celestial Farms in Clio, Michigan . So I really connected with this one. ⸻ A Multi-Business Powerhouse One of the things I loved most about this Nashville, Tennessee venue is that it’s not just a venue. A Room With a View is actually home to five different businesses on the property. That synergy creates an old world community vibe that’s rare in the wedding world. At A Room With A View , you don’t feel like you’re walking into a sterile, one-size-fits-all rental space—you feel like you’re entering someone’s creative playground- and you are! I especially loved hearing the owner talk about how her father was quite the bachelor in his days, and frequently hosted parties in the space that's now a wedding venue. And as a venue owner who's event space has family history, that hit me in all the feels. Every inch of the building feels intentional and authentic. ⸻ The Jack Daniel’s Experience (aka one of my favorite activities from this trip) Okay, let’s talk about the Jack Daniel’s tasting experience because… wow! It was the single most fun and interactive experience on the entire tour of Nashville wedding venues. Set inside the property itself, just across the street from the event space, this experience combined storytelling, sipping, and a whole lot of laughs. It reminded me of the moonshine tasting in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge which is one of my favorite vacation destinations. For engaged couples either local to TN or those searching for a unique destination wedding location, this is the kind of touch that transforms a great celebration into an unforgettable one. It’s one thing to have a signature drink—it’s another to give your guests an actual Jack Daniels tasting tour right inside your wedding venue. Who else can say they got a whiskey tasting experience on their wedding day? That, my friends, is what sets A Room With a View apart from other Nashville wedding venues and wedding venues across the nation. It’s not just about beautiful photos—it’s about creating fun and beautiful memories. ⸻ Learning from the Best in the Business As much as I loved touring the venue itself, the real gold of this trip came from the conversations and education I had with fellow venue owners. This was a group of smart, passionate, driven locally owned wedding venue friends from across the U.S. who are all doing incredible things in their own hometowns. We shared ideas, traded tips and advice, talked through our pain points, and celebrated the wins that only other wedding venue owners truly understand. There’s definitely something powerful about being in a room with people who “get it.” People who know what it’s like to work under pressure- 18 hour work days, rewrite timelines on the fly, hold the hand of a nervous bride, or fix a wardrobe malfunction pre-ceremony while pretending you’re not panicking inside. The first night of the trip, someone said, “You can’t pour into others if your cup is empty,” and it hit me hard. That’s what this trip was: a refilling of my cup. My first solo trip of my entire life and I got to experience it surrounded by other proud but humble wedding venue owners ⸻ Inspiration Around Every Corner Walking through A Room With a View gave me dozens of ideas I want to bring back to my own venue. Each and every space felt effortless but elevated. But it wasn’t just about unique design. It was about the history you feel in that space. You feel welcomed and "part of the family". You felt humbled and inspired. Every little detail—from the staircase leading to the event space to the signage and branding—was curated to make guests feel special. That’s something you can’t fake. The IT factor- It’s either in the DNA of the business, or it’s not. And here? It absolutely is. ⸻ Why Nashville Wedding Venues Like This One Stand Out I’ve visited plenty of venues, but Nashville wedding venues have a magic all their own. There’s something about the energy in this city—part Southern hospitality, part creative grit—that makes every space feel like it has a soul. At A Room With a View , that soul shines bright. The location alone—right in Marathon Village—is enough to draw in couples looking for something truly one-of-a-kind. The surrounding area is filled with artisan shops, breweries, a distillery, and so much interesting history. It feels both urban and intimate. And if you’re someone who values charm and character over cookie-cutter ballrooms like me, this spot is your dream. ⸻ Bringing It All Back Home As I flew back to Michigan and returned to Celestial Farms , I felt a renewed sense of purpose. Being in Nashville reminded me that wedding venues are more than just four walls. They’re storytelling spaces. They’re the backdrops to some of life’s most important moments. And when you do it right—when you combine beautiful aesthetics with exceptional service—you create something lasting. I want to thank A Room With a View for opening your doors to this wedding venue owner from Michigan. And thank you to all of the owners, their teams, and every venue boss I met on this trip. And especially Didi Russell -wedding nerd, our leader, our wedding expert, you lit a spark in me, filled my cup, and I'm bringing that renewed energy back to every bride, groom, and wedding guest who walks through my barn doors at Celestial Farms. ⸻ If you’re a couple looking for a great destination wedding location, or Nashville wedding venues that are as full of personality as they are professionalism, make sure to tour A Room With a View. Located at 1305 Clinton Street, Suite 320 in Marathon Village, this venue offers a taste of history, a taste of whiskey, unforgettable views, unmatched vibes, and experiences that go far beyond the typical. And if you’re another venue owner reading this? Join our group for the next working vacation. Go see what others in our industry are doing. Learn. Be inspired. - Travel Hacks: From Honeymoons to Family Vacations in Europe | What I've learned Along my Travels
LEANING TOWER OF PISA in Pisa, Italy Travel Hacks: Travel Smarter, Not Harder Utilize Your Carry-On Like A Pro One of the smartest travel hacks to understand is how to treat your carry-on like it's a lifeline- not just extra luggage to drag around. IF it's at all possible to only bring a carry-on and not check any luggage, you'll have such a better airport experience by not dealing with checked luggage and worrying about losing anything. Either way, your carry-on should be packed with your essentials, valuables, irreplaceable items, medicine, documents and anything you can't afford to lose. Think jewelry, chargers, prescriptions, important documents for travel and an outfit or two that is versatile. Lost luggage happens. If you have a great carry-on it won't derail your vacation entirely. EIFFEL TOWER in Paris, France Use TSA Pre-Check If you plan on traveling more than once or twice a year, TSA pre-check is a game changer. On my recent trip to Nashville, TN I used CLEAR. There was a kiosk at the airport entrance and it took only a few minutes to sign up and I was on my way, skipping LONG security lines. I felt like I was breaking the rules it was so easy. It ' s a stress-saver. Especially if you're the type of person who's always running late. Even the calmest travelers get stressed out in long security lines at the airport. It's hard to determine how long you'll be standing there for. These pre-check programs let you skip the lines and the chaos and get to your gate in record time. Bring Portable Chargers CINQUE TERRE in Italy Nothing is more frustrating than watching your phone battery die down to 3% when you are navigating a new city, lining up transportation, and locating boarding passes. There are so many different types of charging banks for your cell phones, computers, and more. They're a lifesaver. When traveling, you never know when you'll have a chance to wait for your devices to get a full charge. And you'll be using your phone for everything- Ubers, looking up the destinations you're visiting, making reservations and more. A portable charger gives you peace of mind. I always take at least two with me when I travel. Then when you get to your hotel you can charge them up overnight and you'll be prepared for the next full day of activities. It's one of the simplest ways to reduce stress when traveling. And always keep it in your carry-on as some batteries aren't allowed in checked luggage. CATACOMBS OF PARIS in Paris, France Don't Overpack Choose your clothes wisely. You never wear every item of clothing you bring. This is something I struggle with. Of course you want your favorite cocktail dress and high heels, but if you don't necessarily have a specific need for them-don't bring them. It's a waste of space in your luggage and a waste of time. Bring clothes that are versatile. Clothes you can layer in different ways and re-wear to look like completely different outfits. Try to use the 3x3 method of packing. P ick three tops, three bottoms and three layering pieces (cardigans, blazers, coats, etc). Then lay the items out into a 3 x 3 grid. Mix and match each item to create separate outfits. This will save time, space, and make packing and carrying your luggage so much easier. Stoicism-Be Flexible SAGRADA FAMILIA in Barcelona, Spain Flexibility is everything when you travel. Embrace a stoic mindset. That's a travel hack for anyone going anywhere. Adopting a little stoicism when traveling means understanding and accepting that not everything is always going to go according to plan. Expect some things to NOT go according to plan. Remind yourself: this is part of the adventure. You just can't let things steal your joy when you're doing once in a lifetime things. Instead of aiming for perfection, aim for presence and living in the moment. Travel is never flawless, make a backup plan for everything and have the time of your life! Travel Hacks: Less Stress, More Adventure! Pack a Foldable Duffel bag POMPEII near Naples, Italy This is the most underrated travel hack in my opinion- pack an extra foldable duffel bag in your luggage. Don't worry about running out of space at the end of your trip when you've been souvenir shopping the entire time. A duffel bag is an easy item to check. Keep your dirty laundry in it so you can use your hard shell luggage for keepsakes and souvenirs. Plus, your dirty laundry won't be touching everything else. Even if you planned on only bringing a carry-on, packing a duffel bag at the bottom of your bag is going to give you so much versatility on the way home. You just never know if you'll have a spontaneous shopping spree, or when you'll find an amazing market or hand crafted local art. Plan ahead, and if you don't use it on the way home you might use it during your trip as a beach bag with your hotel towels or snacks for the day. AMALFI COAST in Amalfi, Italy SHOES -Comfort Over Quantity For our last travel hack, let's be honest with ourselves for a minute.. we always walk WAY more than we're expecting on a vacation. And the terrain might be cobblestone streets, sandy beaches, or airport terminals that are way further than expected. Choosing a shoe that is both comfortable and worn-in is crucial. It's non-negotiable. I agree- it's tempting to bring a heel in every color for every outfit. But in reality we'll be spending MOST of our time in tennis shoes. It's ok to bring one cute pair of shoes that will match all of your dresses, but it's not necessary to bring more than a couple pairs of shoes when you travel. I'm a serial over-packer. I learned the hard way when I took a trip across Europe and had to haul a HUGE suitcase across multiple countries, trains, planes, and automobiles. Only to spend 99% of my time in the same shoes and same few versatile articles of clothing. Never again. STONEHENGE in England Thanks so much for stopping by our blog! - Nicole and Ethan's Engagement Photo Shoot | Engagement Picture Ideas and Tips
Capturing the magic of love is truly an art and Angie captured it with Nicole and Ethan. Engagement shoots offer a wonderful way to celebrate a couple's journey toward their wedding day. Recently I accompanied Nicole and Ethan, a charming couple and clients of Celestial Farms and Angela's Angles Photography , on their engagement session in downtown Flint. In this post, we will showcase their magical downtown engagement photo shoot and share essential engagement picture ideas and tips to inspire your own session. Engagement Picture Ideas for Michigan couples: visit charming downtown Flint - a perfect backdrop for photos Love was clearly in the air as Nicole and Ethan arrived for their shoot, with downtown Flint providing a stunning backdrop. The area is filled with historical architecture and modern energy, offering numerous picturesque settings for their engagement shoot with Angela's Angles Photography. As we walked past vibrant murals, trendy cafes, and the historic FLINT street signs, every corner captured their playful interactions and genuine connection. This was a wonderful reminder to stay true to yourselves during these significant moments as you'll create the BEST pictures just by being yourselves! Choosing the Right Location Selecting the perfect location for your engagement shoot is vital and tip number one. It's best to choose a place that is meaningful or reflects the essence of your relationship. For Nicole and Ethan, the urban backdrop of downtown Flint mirrored their vibrant and fun personalities. When finalizing your location, consider: Accessibility : Make sure it is easy for both of you and your photographer to get around. Lighting : Natural light can significantly enhance your professional photos. Planning your shoot during the golden hour—which is roughly an hour after sunrise or before sunset—generally offers the best lighting and is usually Angie with Angela's Angles- first choice Connection : Pick a place that speaks to you. Maybe it's where you had your first date or maybe you prefer to take the advice for your location from your photographer- as they know what the best locations in the area are. Wardrobe Choices Choosing the right outfit is another key aspect to a successful engagement shoot. Nicole and Ethan selected outfits that complemented each other beautifully without looking overly planned. They both looked comfortable and natural. Here are some wardrobe tips that can make a big difference for your shoot: Prioritize Comfort : Wear outfits that you feel confident and comfortable in. Avoid clothing that is too tight or restricts movement-especially when you're working with Angie! She'll have you movin! Embrace Layers and Textures : Layering items of clothing (depending on the season) can add depth to your photos. Consider using scarves, jackets, or accessories that enhance your look if the weather's right. Align with the Seasons : Choose colors that match the season like Nicoles summer dress and white jeans that looked absolutely perfect on her! Soft pastels for spring or rich, warm tones for fall create beautiful contrasts against natural backdrops. Candid Moments vs. Posed Shots Finding a balance between candid moments and posed shots is essential for a great photographer to get right. Nicole and Ethan took Angie's advice on movement and thrived, laughing and engaging with each other, which led to authentic and beautiful photos. Here are some strategies to encourage candid moments: Focus on Each Other : Instead of worrying about where the camera is, concentrate on each other. This will foster natural reactions and emotions which Nicole and Ethan did perfectly. Incorporate Movement : Activities like walking, twirling, or dancing can create dynamic photos that capture the joy of your relationship even if it feels silly at the time. Trust your photographer's instructions. Capturing Emotions Emotions are the heart of every engagement shoot. The photographer's role is to draw out these genuine feelings the couple has for each other. To effectively capture emotions: Communicate Openly with Your Photographer : Share your feelings about the shoot- what you're comfortable with doing and what you may not be comfortable doing- and any specific frames you envision. The better they understand your vision, the better they can instruct you and the more genuine moments they can capture. Connect with Your Partner : Discuss little things that make you smile, giggle, or reminisce about cherished memories to evoke natural reactions. Trust the Process : It’s normal to feel nervous in front of the camera and most people do. Trusting your photographer and relaxing into the moment can and will yield stunning results, especially when working with Angie. Post-Shoot Reflections After the engagement shoot, taking time to reflect is essential. Nicole and Ethan shared so much love and laughter, making the day memorable beyond just photos which is apparent in the candid content I captured that day. Cherishing Lasting Memories Nicole and Ethan's engagement shoot in downtown Flint with Angela's Angles Photography was nothing short of magical. The beautiful downtown backdrops and heartfelt moments captured the essence of their relationship, offering a glimpse into their exciting future together as a married couple which will begin at Celestial Farms next October. For those planning engagement photo sessions, remember that authenticity, creativity, and connection are always key. Choose the right location, wear outfits that make you feel amazing, and focus on capturing the emotions that define your unique love story. Ready to plan the wedding of your dreams? Mission BBQ at Celestial Farms Wedding Venue Romantic Restaurants Near Me for Rehearsal Dinners, Anniversaries, Marriage Proposals and More! Whether you’re planning a marriage proposal, celebrating your first anniversary, or looking for a unique and cozy spot for a rehearsal dinner, one of the most commonly searched phrases is “romantic restaurants near me.” As a wedding venue owner in Clio, Michigan, I’ve seen couples turn our local recommendations for these dinners into lifelong memories — from surprise proposals to rehearsal dinners with crafted cocktails and lots of laughter! Here are some of my personal favorite local -to Celestial Farms - spots that check all the boxes: ambiance, great food, and most importantly top-notch cocktails! Romantic Getaways Near Me to Have Dinner 1. PROST Wine Bar & Charcuterie – Frankenmuth, MI If you’ve never been to PROST in Frankenmuth, Michigan- go. Immediately. This cozy Frankenmuth wine bar is one of my personal favorite places for a date night with my husband or my best friends. It has the perfect ambiance for a romantic evening with just the right vibe- and is a top pick for marriage proposals and anniversaries. My go-to cocktails? The Lavendula and the Sunburnt Siesta (pictured above) — both my favorites- are refreshing, floral, and beautifully balanced. You can check out their cocktail menu here . The food? Amazing! The bacon-wrapped water chestnuts are an appetizer I dream about every day- pictured above. The BLT (pictured below) was, no exaggeration, the best sandwich I’ve ever had in my entire 41 years of life. It has avacado in it too- Yum! And if you love a good charcuterie, their charcuterie boards are stunning, delicious, and beautifully presented- I recommend the Prost Favorites Board. They often have live music, and you can find their music calendar on their website. I have some of my own photos I’ll be sharing on social — because yes, it’s that good. 2. Café Rhema – Downtown Flint Are you more of a morning person than a cocktail person? Then skip the traditional candlelight dinner and consider something totally different and earlier in the day — a coffee shop proposal. The pictures are guaranteed to be stunning, especially if you bring a photographer to capture your date at Café Rhema in downtown Flint. The vibe is vintage, charming, and beaming with character. It’s ideal for a quiet moment with your favorite person, and the food and drinks are delicious. I’m especially in love with their strawberry waffles and hot lattes. The Station 100 – Frankenmuth, MI If you’re looking for somewhere elevated and luxurious, and also local to us at Celestial Farms , The Station 100 in Frankenmuth is an excellent choice. I haven’t personally been yet (it’s on my date-night list!), but just take a look at their website and you’ll see why I'm excited to visit— white tablecloths, gourmet entrées, and a fine dining experience that feels indulgent and memorable which suits any special occasion. The Station 100 serves up quite an impressive European-inspired menu with Michigan-sourced ingredients, and offer wine pairings with each course — perfect for a romantic dinner or an intimate rehearsal meal for a smaller group for a fun night in Frankenmuth. 4. - Stop Inviting People You Don’t Like to Your Wedding – THE PERSPECTIVE OF A COORDINATOR AT WEDDING Chapels Near Me
Let’s be honest—building your wedding guest list can be brutal. It's the first "stressful" wedding planning task engaged couples have to conquer. Between family expectations, social obligations, and the dreaded plus-one debates, many of our couples at Celestial Farms and other wedding chapels near me end up inviting people they barely know (or don’t even like) to one of the most important days of their lives- their wedding day. Disclaimer: At Celestial Farms although we do give our couple's advice like this we ALWAYS do it respectfully and tactfully. And we fully support their approach to these issues! This Blog is supposed to be a little entertaining! At Celestial Farms , we see our couples struggle with this all the time. With a 150-guest capacity, our brides and grooms often feel pressure to fill every seat, even when they’d rather keep things intimate or close to home. And let’s not forget the plus-one problem—many couples feel obligated to give every wedding guest they invite a +1, even when it doesn’t make sense. Most of the time the pressure comes from our couples' parents. Now hear me out moms and dads, I know your child only gets married once and this feels like a big moment in your lives too. But this day, your child's wedding day, should be about what matters most to them-the Bride and the Groom. Ladies and Gentleman. ... here ’ s the truth: If you wouldn't take this person out for dinner, drinks and dancing (and pay for it) why would you invite them to the most important day of your life? Why would you spend that kind of money on one extra person that you will NOT miss if they don't show up? No money should be wasted on things that don't matter to the Bride and Groom, no matter who's paying. Allocate that money to something more meaningful like maybe professional flower arrangements or an upgraded menu, money for your honeymoon or even your first home! Weddings are expensive! Don't waste one dime of your budget on things (or people) that don't matter. Wedding Chapels Near Me That Exceed Expectations: Celestial Farms 1. The Myth of “You Have to Invite Them” Raq and Harvey's VERY MUCH LOVED wedding guests! Somewhere along the line, weddings became less about the Bride and Groom's sentiments and more about keeping the peace in many families. But do you really need to invite: • That cousin you haven’t seen in years? • Your mom’s co-worker who once gave you a birthday card in 2005? • Your college roommate’s new boyfriend who you’ve never met? You don’t owe anyone an invite just because they exist in your life or your parents life. Stephanie and Zeke's FAVORITE people! 2. The Plus-One Problem: Should Every Guest Get One? Want to know one of the biggest guest list headaches? The expectation that every guest gets a plus-one. At Celestial Farms , we see many brides feeling guilty about this decision time and time again. Here’s the advice we have for them: • Plus-ones should be for serious relationships . Married couples, engaged couples, or long-term partners? Yes. Someone’s Tinder date from last weekend? Not necessary. • You're allowed to set clear rules . It’s YOUR wedding day. If you’re allowing plus-ones only for certain guests (like the wedding party), that’s perfectly acceptable. You can do what you want on your wedding day. • Your budget matters! Whether it's your money or your parent's are helping or paying, it matters. If every guest gets a plus-one, that’s double the catering, seating, and drink costs. Wouldn’t you rather spend that money on something meaningful? Dreamed of Loubitin's for your wedding day your entire life? BUY THEM! You've always wanted a string duo at your ceremony? BOOK THEM! New or soon to be new homeowners? INVEST THE MONEY INSTEAD! Every seat matters. Why fill them with strangers? 3. Big Wedding vs. Micro Wedding: Do You Really Want a Huge Crowd? Many couples start by Googling "wedding chapels near me" and "wedding venues in Michigan", and they make a guest list a mile long. But once the stress of the guest list kicks in, and they start to break down the cost per person at 2025-2026 wedding venues in Michigan they realize they’d be happier with a micro wedding—a celebration with only 50 or so people who truly matter. We love micro-weddings at Celestial Farms! Wedding Chapels Near Me That Offer Micro-Weddings: Celestial Farms Reasons couples at Celestial Farms choose a smaller wedding: • Less stress. No awkward and obligated small talk with distant relatives. • More meaningful moments. You’ll actually have time to enjoy your favorite people. • Budget control. Instead of feeding people you barely know, you can make upgrades on catering, top shelf liquors , decor, an upgraded photography package , entertainment or your honeymoon. A Full House of ADORED Wedding Guests at Celestial Farms 4. How to Cut the Guest List Without Feeling Guilty It’s not easy to say no, but here’s how to do it: • Use the “Would I Buy Them Dinner?” Test – If you wouldn’t take them out for a meal in real life, why would you pay for them at your once in a lifetime wedding? • Blame the Venue – “Our Michigan wedding venue has a 150-person max, ( or our package has a max of 100) so we have to keep the list tight.” (You can even blame Celestial Farms —we don’t mind at all!) • Announce It Early – Make it clear early on that you’re having a small, intimate wedding so people don’t expect an invitation. Your Wedding, Your Rules At the end of the day, your wedding experience should be magical, not stressful. The people sitting in the audience at your wedding ceremony should be the ones who truly love and support you—not just names on a list to avoid drama (because there's plenty of other dramas to be had). So, when searching for your favorite wedding venues in Michigan and wedding chapels near me, remember this motto we have at Celestial Farms : Wedding planning is about creating the best day of your life with the people who matter most. And if someone isn’t meeting the requirements-they don’t need an invite. Happy planning, and at Celestial Farms although we do give our couple's advice like this we ALWAYS do it respectfully and tactfully. And we fully support their approach to these issues! - Top 7 ways to Choose the Perfect Wedding Date: Advice from a Detroit Wedding Venue
One of the most exciting early planning decisions for your wedding is choosing your date! The date you select will not only hold sentimental value for years to come but can also impact your budget, vendor availability, and overall guest experience. At Celestial Farms - a Detroit area wedding venue, we’ve hosted weddings in every season, and we know just how much your date can shape your big day. Here’s everything you should consider when picking the perfect wedding date, including insights from our venue, seasonal inspiration, money-saving tips, and meaningful date ideas. 1. Consider the Season: What’s the Best Time to Get Married in Michigan? Michigan’s four distinct seasons each bring their own magic and uniqueness to weddings, from crisp autumn colors to lush summer landscapes. At Celestial Farms, we’re fully climate-controlled year-round so you and your guests will always be comfortable—no matter the weather! Here’s what each season looks like at our venue: Spring Weddings: Blooming Romance (March – May) Spring is a season of renewal, making it a beautiful choice for weddings. The grass begins to turn green, trees start budding, and flowers start peeking through, creating soft and romantic surroundings. • Pros: Mild temperatures, fresh greenery and florals, and a sense of renewal. • Considerations: Spring weather in Michigan can be unpredictable, (April showers bring May flowers), so choosing a climate-controlled Detroit wedding venue like ours ensures comfort. Summer Weddings: Sunlit Celebrations (June – August) Summer is peak wedding season in Michigan, with beautifully warm temperatures, long daylight hours, and lush landscapes. • Pros: Beautiful weather, abundance of options with florists, and easy travel for out-of-town guests. • Considerations: Popular dates book up fast, and some vendors charge premium prices for peak-season Saturdays. Fall Weddings: A Cozy & Colorful Affair (September – November) Autumn in Michigan is breathtaking, especially here at our Detroit wedding venue with vibrant foliage and crisp air creating a picturesque setting for weddings. • Pros: Stunning natural orange, yellow and red backdrops, moderate temperatures, and seasonal décor options like pumpkins and warm-toned florals. • Considerations: September and October are incredibly popular for weddings, especially at Celestial Farms so book early! Winter Weddings: A Magical Wonderland (December – February) Winter Michigan weddings are becoming more popular, offering a cozy, intimate atmosphere and unique photo opportunities with snow-covered landscapes. • Pros: Our heated pavilion allows for ceremonies of up to 100 guests, and our fully climate-controlled modern farmhouse barn ensures warmth and comfort throughout the entire day. • Considerations: Holiday weekends can be tricky for guest availability with travel considerations, but winter weddings often come with cost savings. 2. Meaningful Dates: Finding a Date with Personal Significance Some couples choose a wedding date that holds sentimental value to them. Here are a few ideas: • Anniversary of Your First Date: Celebrate your love story by tying the knot on the same day you first met or had your first date or any other significant milestone in your relationship. • Lucky Numbers: Some lucky numbers hold personal or cultural significance. For example, many people love dates with repeating numbers (e.g., 2/22/22 or 11/11/25). • Family Connection: Consider honoring your parents or grandparents by selecting their anniversary date or a special date for them. I got married on my mom's birthday! • Astrological or Celestial Dates: If you love the night sky (just like we do at Celestial Farms!), consider a date with a meteor shower or full moon for an extra magical night. 3. Budget-Friendly Dates: Save Money Without Sacrificing Style If you’re flexible with your wedding date, you can save thousands by choosing an off-peak date or weekday wedding. Friday, Sunday, or Weekday Weddings • Many venues (including Celestial Farms) offer significant discounts for non-Saturday weddings. • Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays are still great options for an amazing wedding experience but come with savings. • Weekday weddings (Monday-Thursday) can be significantly more affordable, perfect for intimate gatherings or microweddings. Off-Peak Seasons (January – March & Mid-Summer Sundays) • Winter weddings are often more budget-friendly. • Mid-summer Sundays in July and August can be a hidden gem—gorgeous weather but lower demand. Vendor Savings Not only can you save on the venue, but other wedding vendors may charge less for off-peak dates as well. You’ll have a larger selection of available photographers, florists, and DJs if you choose a less competitive or off peak wedding date. 4. Guest Availability & Considerations While it’s your special day, it’s also important to consider your guests’ ability to attend. • Holidays & Long Weekends: These can be great for travel but may also conflict with family traditions and gatherings. • School & Work Schedules: If many of your guests are teachers or students, summer or holiday breaks are a great option. • Destination Guests: If you have out-of-town guests, ensure travel and accommodations are accessible- many of our guests stay in Birch Run and Frankenmuth hotels only about ten and fifteen minutes from our venue. 5. Vendor & Venue Availability: Book Early for Popular Dates At Celestial Farms , peak-season Saturdays book the fastest—sometimes 1-2 years in advance! If you have your heart set on a specific vendor (like a favorite photographer or florist), it's a great idea to coordinate your date around their availability. • If your dream wedding vendor is booked, consider shifting your date to a Friday, Sunday, or even an off-season month when they may have more availibility. • Booking early means securing your top-choice wedding vendors before they’re fully booked! 6. Think About Your Wedding Style & Vision The overall theme, attire, and décor can be affected by your chosen date. • Want an outdoor ceremony? Consider a spring, summer, or fall date for comfortable outdoor weather- but keep in mind we have a pavilion for plan b! • Dreaming of warm, rich colors for your special day? Fall’s natural palette pairs beautifully with deep reds, oranges, and golds or what we call "dark and moody" weddings. • Love a cozy, intimate vibe? Winter weddings with candlelight and greenery create an elegant atmosphere that is sure to be memorable for all. At Celestial Farms , a Detroit wedding venue, we offer indoor and outdoor ceremony options depending on the season. Our heated outdoor pavilion comfortably hosts up to 100 guests in winter, while all other seasons can accommodate up to 150 guests for a ceremony or cocktail hour. 7. Final Tips for Choosing the Perfect Wedding Date 1. Be Open to Alternatives If your dream wedding date is unavailable, consider a nearby date or an entirely different season. You may end up loving a date you hadn’t originally considered which happens to many of our couples. 2. Check Local Events & Festivals Make sure your wedding date doesn’t coincide with major local events (like a Frankenmuth car show or beer festival ) that could impact travel and hotel availability. Fourth of July is big in Frankenmuth and many hotels require a two night stay that weekend. 3. Consider the Moon & Stars If you love celestial themes like I do, check the moon phases! A full moon can create a stunning ambiance, especially for night ceremonies at Celestial Farms. 4. Trust Your Instincts In the end, the perfect wedding date is the one that feels right for all of the reasons. Whether it’s based on romance, budget, or availability, trust your heart and embrace the wedding journey! Ready to Choose Your Wedding Date? Let’s Chat-Schedule a tour today! - In Memory Of: Top 5 ways to honor loved ones at wedding chapels near me
Weddings are a time of joy, love, and celebration amongst family and friends. But sometimes they can feel bittersweet when we think of the special people in our lives who are no longer with us. Honoring our loved ones memories in heartfelt ways allows couples to keep their presence alive on one of the most important days of their lives. If you’re looking for ways to incorporate the memory of a loved one into your wedding ceremony or reception, here are five heartfelt ideas that are common at wedding chapels near me. Top 5 Ways to Honor Loved Ones at Wedding Chapels Near Me ⸻ Wade and Thelma Huneycutt, My (Jen) maternal grandparents. 1. Memorial Table with Photos and Keepsakes A table dedicated to the memorial of our loved ones is one of the most common and beautiful ways to honor those who have passed. A memorial table is a quiet but meaningful tribute that allows both you and your guests to reflect on the love and legacy of those who are so deeply missed. Your coordinator at Celestial Farms wedding venue will help you with the placement of your memorial table. How to Create a Meaningful Memorial Table: • Framed Photos: Include pictures of grandparents, parents, or any loved ones who have passed. We had a great time at Celestial Farms with our "In memory of" photoshoot with Angela's Angles using framed photos of our grandparents' wedding days. • Candles or Lanterns: A candle has always been symbolic for memorials. Candles represent your loved ones' presence and light in your life. • Personal Items: Displaying sentimental items such as a favorite cookbook, a piece of jewelry, or even a handwritten letter from them on the table is a nice touch. • A Sign or Poem: A framed sign with a heartfelt quote or poem that reminds you of your loved ones is also a great option. Example: “We know you’d be here today if heaven weren’t so far away.” Placing the memorial table in a prominent yet subtle space—such as near the guest book or on it's own table in the reception area—ensures it remains a special part of your wedding day without disrupting the joy guests are experiencing at your celebration. At Celestial Farms modern barn wedding venue in Michigan we have a lot of our memorial tables in the front windows of the barn and in front of our bar area. Bob and Carol Wilson, Kyle's paternal grandparents. ⸻ 2. Reserving a Seat at the Ceremony Raq and Harvey's wedding ceremony at Celestial Farms Wedding Venue in Michigan An empty seat in honor of a loved one at your wedding ceremony can be a touching and heartfelt way to acknowledge their presence. This very obvious and meaningful tribute is is commonly used if the person being honored played a significant role in your life, such as a parent, grandparent, or sibling. Ways to Personalize the Reserved Seat: • A Small Sign: Use a framed note or sign that reads, “Reserved in loving memory of [Name]. "Always in our hearts.” • A Photograph: Place a framed picture of your loved one and place it on the seat like Raq and Harvey did in this photo. • A Flower or Personal Item: A single stem flower, a bible that belonged to them, or any item that represents them (such as a military hat or a book) can be placed on the ceremony chair. Positioning the seat in the front row of your wedding ceremony ensures they are symbolically present during the most important moment of your wedding day: your ceremony. This has been a popular feature at Celestial Farms. ⸻ Chelsea and Joey's reception at Celestial Farms wedding venue in Michigan. 3. Lighting a Candle in Their Honor A unity candle or memorial candle lighting ceremony is a powerful way to honor and remember loved ones on your wedding day. This simple yet deeply symbolic moment signifies the never ending light they shine on your life. Ideas for a Meaningful Candle-Lighting Moment: • During the Ceremony: The couple can reserve a moment during the ceremony to light a candle together in memory of loved ones. • A Special Song or Reading: Playing a meaningful song, or a favorite song of the loved one who has passed while the candle lighting takes place can add a heartfelt touch. • Including Family Members: Have a close family member, such as a sibling or a surviving parent light the candle with you or for you- whichever feels right. ⸻ 4. A Special Prayer, Reading, or Moment of Silence Zeke and Stephanie's wedding ceremony at Celestial Farms wedding venue in Michigan. For couples who value spirituality or religion, incorporating a special prayer, scripture reading, or moment of silence into your day is a heartfelt way to honor loved ones. This can be done during the ceremony or during the reception. At wedding chapels near me- prayers often take place during ceremonies and after speeches. Ways to Incorporate a Tribute: • A Personalized Prayer: Ask your officiant to include a prayer during the ceremony for those who have passed. • A Favorite Scripture or Poem: Choose a passage that reflects the life and legacy of your loved one(s). Example: “Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.” – 1 Corinthians 13:7-8 • A Moment of Silence: Before exchanging vows, during your ceremony have your officiant invite guests to pause for a moment of silence to remember those who are missed. ⸻ Jewelry from a grandparent or loved one who has passed is a great way to keep them close on your wedding day. 5. Wearing or Carrying a Sentimental Item Incorporating a loved one’s belongings or something that reminds you of them into your dress or suit or your floral bouquet is a deeply personal way to keep them close to your heart on your wedding day. Ways to Carry Their Memory with You: • Jewelry: Wearing a grandparent’s ring, a parent’s necklace, or any jewelry that has meaning. • Fabric Keepsake: Sewing a piece of fabric from their clothing into your attire is a personal and private way to keep them close. • Bouquet Charm: Attach a ring, piece of jewelry, favorite pin, etc. into your bouquet. • Cufflinks or Tie Clip: Using a father’s or grandfather’s cufflinks for your wedding day as a tribute. These special touches make a big impact on your wedding day. ⸻ Top 5 Ways to Honor Loved Ones at Wedding Chapels Near Me Memorial table at Celestial Farms Wedding Venue in Michigan by Angela's Angles Photography Honoring loved ones at your Michigan wedding venue is a beautiful way to celebrate their memory while also celebrating the love between you and your partner. Whether it’s through a reserved ceremony seat, a lit candle, a heartfelt prayer, or a sentimental keepsake, each tribute serves as a reminder that love never ends. "The ones we love never go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, yet always near. Still loved, still missed, and very dear." When searching for “wedding chapels near me,” consider how your venue will accommodate these special meaningful details. - Our in-house Content Creator Makes Magic Happen!
Every image, video and reel in this blog was captured by the in-house content creator at Celestial Farms Wedding Venue in Clio, Michigan. Behind the scenes content, videos and images are included in every package at Celestial Farms Wedding Venue . Our in house content creator, Kylee Wilson- made magic happen at Marina and Ryan's July 3rd wedding. It was a great way to start the fourth of July weekend! Marina's summer floral colors stunned. And the bridesmaids were so chic in their baby blue bridesmaids dresses! Why You Might Want a Content Creator for Your Wedding Day (Even If You Have a Videographer) Wedding day goes by in a blur—between the ceremony, the toasts, the dancing, and all the happy chaos, most couples say they barely have time to take it all in. That’s where a wedding content creator comes in and adds so much value to your wedding experience. Think of the Celestial Farms team as your behind-the-scenes besties with phones, capturing the raw, unfiltered, emotional moments as they happen. While a traditional wedding videographer is focused on curating cinematic footage with high-end cameras and sound equipment, a content creator is all about quick, real-time, behind the scenes footage designed for social sharing and personal memories. Here at Celestial Farms Wedding Venue in Clio, Michigan, we provide something extra for our couples who love reliving the real, candid and behind the scenes moments of their wedding day. As part of their wedding experience, we take behind-the-scenes photos and videos throughout the day—from the big moments like the first look to the quiet, emotional ones in between—and deliver those clips directly to the bride and groom within a few days. We don’t just deliver files; we create fun, emotional, and perfectly timed Reels and TikToks that capture the true energy of your unique wedding day at Celestial Farms. So what’s the difference? A wedding videographer is there to create a beautiful, polished wedding film that tells the full story of your day in a cinematic way- like a short movie. That process often takes weeks or even months to deliver, and it’s focused on a storytelling arc, clean audio, and high production value which is always great to have. A content creator , on the other hand, captures fast, vertical footage meant for Instagram, TikTok, or your camera roll, or just your eyes only when the intimate moments happen. We’re the ones grabbing those quick reaction videos, first look tears, dance floor chaos, funny stuff that you don't want to post publicly, and dreamy golden hour shots—usually on a smartphone or compact camera—to deliver fast and real-time memories you can share with your friends and family on social media right away. At Celestial Farms wedding venue, this service is something we’re proud to include in every package because we know how valuable it is to relive those moments right away. Brides love waking up the next day to a preview of their wedding story already unfolding on our social media platforms. Whether it’s a champagne pop, a sparkler send-off, or your grandma’s epic dance moves in her wheelchair—we’re there for it all. And if you’re hiring a professional videographer and wedding photographer, great! The three roles actually work beautifully together. The videographer focuses on long-form storytelling and archival quality, while our in house content creator focuses on those fleeting, viral-worthy, emotional snapshots that keep the excitement going after the last dance! Check out this work by our content creator with Kayla and Jason's heartfelt wedding day: And this happy tears moment at Ashley and Cory's wedding when our content creator captured the brides first look with Grandpa: Thanks so much for stopping by our blog! - The No-Children Wedding: Trending at Wedding Venues Near Me
Weddings are beautiful celebrations where family and friends gather to share in the love a couple shares on their special day. Traditionally, children have been a significant part of weddings holding titles such as ring bearers, flower girls, or simply attending as dear family members. However, there’s a growing trend at wedding venues near me and across the country among today's couples opting for “adults-only” weddings, sparking debates about what’s truly the best way to celebrate a wedding. At Celestial Farms we believe what matters most is how the couple themselves feel about the subject and of course whatever their wishes are we support them completely. Couples Looking for Wedding Venues Near Me Will Love Celestial Farms, a Stunning Modern Barn Wedding Venue in Clio, Michigan For newly engaged couples who are planning their wedding at wedding venues near me, this is a decision that can have a significant impact on their guest list, atmosphere, and overall wedding experience. While the no-children wedding trend has gained traction over the last few years, it definitely comes with some controversy. So, what exactly is driving this no-kid wedding trend, and is it the right choice for you? Let’s break down the reasons couples are choosing the no-kids wedding trend and hopefully it will help you decide if it’s the right approach for your dream wedding. What Is the No-Children Wedding Trend? The no-children wedding trend is exactly what it sounds like: a decision to have a wedding day that is reserved for adults only, with no children at the reception. This trend has become particularly popular in recent years as couples look for ways to create a more personalized, stress free and enjoyable event. Some couples choose to have an adults-only wedding to cut costs, while others are focused on the overall wedding experience for themselves and their guests. For couples planning their wedding at wedding venues near me, such as the beautiful and peaceful Celestial Farms in Clio, Michigan, making this choice can greatly shape the overall atmosphere of your wedding day. An adults-only policy creates a particular vibe for the wedding that reflects the couple’s personality and individual preferences. The Growing Popularity of the No-Children Wedding Why has this trend gained so much attention, particularly in the wedding industry? Let's take a look at some of these reasons.. 1. Creating a More Relaxed Atmosphere Weddings can be stressful. And it's an added challenge trying to keep young children safe, entertained and under control. Many couples want to ensure that their guests can fully enjoy themselves for the day without worrying about distractions or disruptions. By choosing to have an adults-only wedding, the couple can encourage a more relaxed and fun atmosphere full of spirits and and fun, where everyone can unwind, socialize, and celebrate without the worry of who is going to accompany the children at weddings. This is especially relevant for couples who want to focus on their own enjoyable wedding experiences without worrying about the potential for loud crying during key moments, temper tantrums, or restless little ones after an extremely long day. Celestial Farms embraces both child friendly weddings and adult only weddings. Although some wedding venues near me and wedding venues around the country have started making strict rules regarding children at weddings for a number of reasons including safety, damages, liability, and overall guest experience. 2. Focusing on Adult Conversations and Connections Weddings are an opportunity to reconnect with friends, family, and colleagues, who sometimes haven’t seen each other in years. Having children present can limit the types of conversations that are appropriate and connections that can be made. With adults-only weddings, guests can engage in meaningful and intimate conversations without feeling the need to be on constant alert for listening ears and children’s needs. 3. Cost Considerations While many couples start the wedding planning process wanting to invite everyone to their wedding, it can quickly become expensive and they realize that cutting your count is going to save thousands. Catering costs, seating arrangements, and wedding favor expenses add up as the guest list grows. By limiting the guest list to adults only, couples can reduce the guest count and cut some of the costs associated with food and drinks, making the overall wedding experience more affordable. Not only will the couple have a significant savings on catering, but many find that they can allocate that saved money to other elements of the wedding, such as upgrading the décor package, photography package , adding a premium cocktail hour with Cheers to You Bartending , or enhancing the overall guest experience. 4. Maintaining a Formal or Elegant Vibe An adults-only wedding is a way to ensure the event maintains a formal and elegant vibe for everyone. Children, while we all love them dearly, may not always fit into the aesthetic vision that couples have for their wedding day. At Celestial Farms some of the reasons we see for couples opting for adults only are budget, wedding experience, safety concerns with alcohol and transportation, and overall aesthetic- kids taking over the dance floor and crying during the ceremony and speeches. All of which are valid reasons to opt for an adults only vibe. 5. Minimizing Stress and Distraction Weddings are already incredibly busy days, and managing children at a large event is a lot of work. For most couples, their wedding day is their opportunity to relax, enjoy themselves while getting ready, and letting loose at night. The last thing they want is to be caught up in dealing with childcare issues. By implementing an adults-only policy, the couple can reduce the potential stress of worrying about kids' safety and entertainment and instead focus on enjoying the once in a lifetime moment. Brides and Grooms with Children of their own Some couples have children of their own that they'd like to have attend their special day. Sometimes it's important for children to feel a part of these big moments, especially when blending a family. Many of our couples opt to allow their children or close nieces and nephews to attend while still labeling their day as "adults-only". And some couples choose to have a designated time when the children go home with grandparents or sitters. Such as after the ceremony, after dinner, after the first dance, etc. It's your day and you can decide which children attend and which do not. And you should NOT feel any guilt making this decision. At Celestial Farms we often talk to our couples about this issue and help them decide what works best for their overall vision. Many are surprised to hear just how common this issue is, and by addressing it you can take the time to decide what works best before making final decisions. ⸻ The Pros and Cons of an Adults-Only Wedding While the no-children wedding trend is a popular choice for many couples, it’s not without its challenges. Like any decision in wedding planning, it’s essential to weigh the pros and cons before making your final choice. Pros: 1. More Fun and Relaxation for Adults – An adults-only wedding allows everyone to fully enjoy the celebration without worrying about the safety and entertainment of their kids. Guests can relax and socialize without interruptions, leading to a more fun and memorable day and night. 2. Less Chaos – Weddings can be chaotic by nature, so removing the potential for added stress that children can bring can allow you and your guests to focus on the important things – like celebrating love (partying) and dancing the night away! 3. Cost Savings – As mentioned earlier, excluding children from the guest list can help you save money on catering, seating, and other expenses regarding guest count. 4. More Attention to Detail – Without having to worry about keeping kids entertained, you can focus more on making your wedding day as perfect and personalized as possible, ensuring that all the details are carefully planned and executed. Cons: 1. Potential Hurt Feelings – One of the biggest downsides to having an adults-only wedding is the possibility of offending loved ones or friends with children. Some may feel excluded or hurt by the decision, especially if they had been hoping to bring their children. 2. Exclusion of Important People – If your friends and family have young children, they may not feel comfortable leaving their kids behind. This may even result in some people not attending your wedding at all. 3. Logistical Issues for Guests – Some guests may have trouble finding childcare on the wedding day, particularly if they have limited access to babysitters or family members who can help because their people are attending the wedding. This could possibly lead to added stress for them. ⸻ Making the Adults-Only Policy Work If you do decide that a kid-free wedding is the best choice for you, it’s important to communicate this decision early on- clearly and respectfully with your guests. Here are some tips for making the policy work: • Be Transparent Early On: Let your guests know as soon as possible (even before sending invites) that your wedding will be adults-only. This will give them enough time to make arrangements for childcare without surprises. It’s also helpful to mention this on your wedding website and of course on your invitation. • Offer Childcare Options: If you feel bad about excluding children, consider providing a list of local babysitters or daycare services, or a designated babysitter at a nearby hotel that guests can use during the wedding. This way, guests can enjoy the wedding without worrying about childcare and logistics. • Make It Clear on Invitations: When sending out your wedding invitations, include clear wording stating that children are not allowed. You could say something like, “Please join us for an adults-only celebration” or “We respectfully request no children at our wedding.” ⸻ Is an Adults-Only Wedding Right for You? Ultimately, the decision to have a no-children wedding is a deeply personal one that only the bride and groom can make. It’s important to think about your own priorities, the atmosphere you want to create on your wedding day, and how it will affect your loved ones. Celestial Farms, with its modern barn setting, focuses on creating personalized experiences and is the perfect venue for those who want an intimate, relaxed, and stress-free wedding experience—whether that means having children involved or choosing an adults-only event. Whatever you decide, remember that it's YOUR wedding day and it should reflect your personality, values, and desires. After all, it’s your special day to create memories with the people who mean the most to you—whether that includes children or not.
