Your Guide to Fireworks, Festivals, and all things Fourth of July in Mid-Michigan
As the owner of Celestial Farms wedding venue at 3116 E. Vienna Road in Clio, Michigan, a modern barn wedding venue for 150 guests, I get to experience so many beautiful love stories. When weddings fall near a major holiday like the Fourth of July, it adds a bit of sparkle and flare to your day. And there’s something about love and fireworks that just feels meant to be.
This year, we have the absolute joy of celebrating Marina and Ryan’s wedding at Celestial Farms on July 3rd, 2025. And with so many amazing events happening across Mid-Michigan that fourth of July weekend, I wanted to put together a complete guide for our couples, their guests, and anyone else looking to make the most of the 2025 Fourth of July holiday nearest our wedding venue.

A Wedding Under the Stars:
Marina & Ryan at Celestial Farms on July, 3rd 2025
Before we dive into fireworks and festivals, let me gush for just a moment about our July 3rd couple—Marina and Ryan. From the moment I met Marina, I knew she was one of those brides I'd be close with. She just radiates joy and kindness. Every time we chat, it’s like talking to a close friend. We’ve laughed, brainstormed decor ideas, and even planned a few surprise TikToks to create—think bomb pops and sparklers!
Hosting Marina and Ryan the day before the Fourth of July couldn’t be more perfect for their wedding guests. Their wedding kicks off a weekend of celebration, love, and Michigan magic right here in Mid-Michigan.
Fireworks & Festivities: Frankenmuth’s Fourth of July Events

Just 20 minutes from our wedding venue in Clio, the charming Bavarian town of Frankenmuth, Michigan transforms into a patriotic playground every Fourth of July. It’s our top recommendation for couples or guests who want a scenic day trip before or after the wedding, or a unique hotel to stay in.
Frankenmuth Fireworks – July 3, 2025
Location: Heritage Park – 601 Weiss St, Frankenmuth, MI 48734
Frankenmuth’s fireworks display is hosted by the Frankenmuth Jaycees and is one of the most beloved in Mid-Michigan. The show takes place on the evening of July 3rd—which is perfect timing for Marina and Ryan’s guests who might want to head there after the wedding, or with their children a little before the wedding ends.

What to Expect:
• Fireworks begin at dusk, around 10 p.m. Music is off at 10:00 p.m. for this particular wedding.
• Live music and food vendors set up early in the evening.
• Heritage Park sits along the Cass River, offering stunning reflections of the display and cozy spots for couples or families to spread out a blanket and enjoy the view.
Parking Tips:
• Arrive early; Heritage Park fills fast! (Our wedding guests need to plan ahead and carpool with each other)
• There is free parking downtown near Zehnder’s of Frankenmuth (730 S Main St) and the River Place Shops (925 S Main St). From there, it’s a short walk to the park.

Bay City Fireworks Festival – July 3–5, 2025
Location: Veterans Memorial Park – 301 JFK Dr, Bay City, MI 48706
Distance from Clio: About 45 minutes northeast
If you want a jaw-dropping, multi-day Fourth of July experience, Bay City is where it’s at. Their fireworks festival spans three nights and draws people from all over the Midwest. It’s loud, colorful, and incredibly patriotic—perfect for newlyweds wanting to celebrate their first holiday together in a big way.

July 4th in Clio & Surrounding Towns
While Clio itself is a bit quieter on the Fourth of July, there’s no shortage of small-town celebrations in neighboring areas that are worth the drive when in town for a wedding.

Location: Barber Memorial Park – 11410 Seymour Rd, Montrose, MI 48457

This is a favorite among families and couples who want a smaller hometown vibe. Expect a classic parade, games for kids, food trucks, and fireworks at dusk. The whole park turns into a picnic paradise.
Birch Run Speedway Fireworks – July 5, 2025
Location: 10945 Dixie Hwy, Birch Run, MI 48415
Distance from Celestial Farms: 12 minutes
After the main holiday, you can still catch a great fireworks show at the Birch Run Speedway- on bleachers at the racetrack. It’s unique, loud, and an unforgettable experience.

Hosting a Wedding on or Around the Fourth of July? Here’s What to Know
As a wedding venue owner, I’m often asked whether it’s a good idea to get married near a major holiday like the Fourth of July, Memorial Day Weekend, around Christmas and more. The answer? It depends on your unique wedding vision—but for the right couple, it can be absolutely magical.
Pros:
• Built-in excitement and festive holiday energy
• Guests often already have the weekend off of work
Considerations:
• Vendors may book quickly—start early!
• Hotel rates can be higher around holidays (Or require a 2-night stay)
• Some friends and family will have other events to attend -BUT, my advice to our couples is that the ones who matter will be there for you. Your wedding day is your choice!
