  • The 2025 Fourth of July Events Near our Wedding Venue

Your Guide to Fireworks, Festivals, and all things Fourth of July in Mid-Michigan As the owner of Celestial Farms wedding venue at 3116 E. Vienna Road in Clio, Michigan, a modern barn wedding venue for 150 guests, I get to experience so many beautiful love stories. When weddings fall near a major holiday like the Fourth of July, it adds a bit of sparkle and flare to your day. And there’s something about love and fireworks that just feels meant to be. This year, we have the absolute joy of celebrating Marina and Ryan’s wedding at Celestial Farms on July 3rd, 2025. And with so many amazing events happening across Mid-Michigan that fourth of July weekend, I wanted to put together a complete guide for our couples, their guests, and anyone else looking to make the most of the 2025 Fourth of July holiday nearest our wedding venue. A Wedding Under the Stars: Marina & Ryan at Celestial Farms on July, 3rd 2025 Before we dive into fireworks and festivals, let me gush for just a moment about our July 3rd couple—Marina and Ryan. From the moment I met Marina, I knew she was one of those brides I'd be close with. She just radiates joy and kindness. Every time we chat, it’s like talking to a close friend. We’ve laughed, brainstormed decor ideas, and even planned a few surprise TikToks to create—think bomb pops and sparklers! Hosting Marina and Ryan the day before the Fourth of July couldn’t be more perfect for their wedding guests. Their wedding kicks off a weekend of celebration, love, and Michigan magic right here in Mid-Michigan. Fireworks & Festivities: Frankenmuth’s Fourth of July Events Chelsea and Joey: Emily Ann Photography Just 20 minutes from our wedding venue in Clio, the charming Bavarian town of Frankenmuth, Michigan transforms into a patriotic playground every Fourth of July. It’s our top recommendation for couples or guests who want a scenic day trip before or after the wedding, or a unique hotel to stay in. Frankenmuth Fireworks – July 3, 2025 Location: Heritage Park – 601 Weiss St, Frankenmuth, MI 48734 Frankenmuth’s fireworks display is hosted by the Frankenmuth Jaycees and is one of the most beloved in Mid-Michigan. The show takes place on the evening of July 3rd—which is perfect timing for Marina and Ryan’s guests who might want to head there after the wedding, or with their children a little before the wedding ends. What to Expect: • Fireworks begin at dusk, around 10 p.m. Music is off at 10:00 p.m. for this particular wedding. • Live music and food vendors set up early in the evening. • Heritage Park sits along the Cass River, offering stunning reflections of the display and cozy spots for couples or families to spread out a blanket and enjoy the view. Parking Tips: • Arrive early; Heritage Park fills fast! (Our wedding guests need to plan ahead and carpool with each other) • There is free parking downtown near Zehnder’s of Frankenmuth (730 S Main St) and the River Place Shops (925 S Main St). From there, it’s a short walk to the park. ⸻ Bay City Fireworks Festival – July 3–5, 2025 Location: Veterans Memorial Park – 301 JFK Dr, Bay City, MI 48706 Distance from Clio: About 45 minutes northeast If you want a jaw-dropping, multi-day Fourth of July experience, Bay City is where it’s at. Their fireworks festival spans three nights and draws people from all over the Midwest. It’s loud, colorful, and incredibly patriotic—perfect for newlyweds wanting to celebrate their first holiday together in a big way. Misson BBQ Gives Back: Read their story here Photos by Angela's Angles Photography 2025 Schedule Highlights: • Thursday, July 3 : Opening night with local bands and smaller firework shows (The 3rd may be difficult with travel for Marina and Ryans guests-but the 4th would be perfect!) • Friday, July 4 : The main event with one of the largest fireworks displays in the Midwest • Saturday, July 5 : Family day with a carnival, boat parade, and additional fireworks to close out the weekend Landmarks Nearby: • Wenonah Park (801 N Water St): Great views and green space • Liberty Harbor Marina (100 Admiral Ct): Perfect for watching fireworks over the water • Center Avenue Historic District: For history buffs, this neighborhood is a beauty to stroll during the day Parking Tips: • Street parking is limited—try parking at the Bay City Mall (4101 Wilder Rd) and using shuttle services • Paid parking available near Veterans Park (early arrival strongly recommended!) ⸻ July 4th in Clio & Surrounding Towns While Clio itself is a bit quieter on the Fourth of July, there’s no shortage of small-town celebrations in neighboring areas that are worth the drive when in town for a wedding. Montrose Fourth of July Festival – July 4, 2025 Location: Barber Memorial Park – 11410 Seymour Rd, Montrose, MI 48457 Distance: 10 miles west of Clio This is a favorite among families and couples who want a smaller hometown vibe. Expect a classic parade, games for kids, food trucks, and fireworks at dusk. The whole park turns into a picnic paradise. Birch Run Speedway Fireworks – July 5, 2025 Location: 10945 Dixie Hwy, Birch Run, MI 48415 Distance from Celestial Farms: 12 minutes After the main holiday, you can still catch a great fireworks show at the Birch Run Speedway- on bleachers at the racetrack. It’s unique, loud, and an unforgettable experience. Travel Tips for Wedding Guests Visiting Over the Fourth of July Weekend: Many of our couples choose Fourth of July weekend for their wedding because it gives guests extra time to travel and explore. Here are some helpful tips if you’re coming to Celestial Farms wedding venue or attending a local event: Lodging Options Near Celestial Farms: • Holiday Inn Express & Suites – Birch Run: 12150 Dixie Hwy, Birch Run, MI 48415 • Drury Inn & Suites – Frankenmuth: 260 S Main St, Frankenmuth, MI 48734 • 85ten Boutique Hotel – Port Austin: A further drive, but perfect for a romantic post-wedding weekend (and a personal favorite of mine!) • Embracing 2025 Wedding Trends at Michigan Wedding Venues

As we step into the 2025 wedding season, couples are evolving, blending tradition with modern touches and personalized details to create personalized and memorable wedding experiences. For couples looking for the perfect Michigan wedding venues, this season offers a plethora of wedding trends that can enhance the charm of wedding venues. From sustainability to innovative entertainment, let’s explore how you can incorporate the top 2025 wedding trends into your DREAM Michigan barn wedding. 1. Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Weddings Flowers: Bentley Florist. Photo: Angela's Angles Photography Environmental consciousness continues to influence wedding planning for couples and Michigan wedding venues in 2025. Couples are prioritizing sustainability by choosing eco-friendly options that drastically reduce their wedding's overall carbon footprint. How to Incorporate: • Local Sourcing:  Opt for locally sourced wedding flowers from locally owned businesses and farm-to-table catering services. Michigan’s rich agricultural landscape provides an abundance of fresh, seasonal produce and florals, supporting local farmers and locally owned businesses reducing emissions related to transportation.  • Eco-Friendly Décor:  Utilize reusable or biodegradable materials for decor and other purposes such as catering utensils. Consider bamboo plates instead of plastic, which is a huge problem in the wedding industry-single use plastics.  • Minimalist Invitations:  Embrace digital invitations and save the dates to minimize paper waste. We LOVE the trending TikTok save the dates! Modern Farmhouse Michigan Wedding Venue 2. Intimate and Personalized Celebrations There’s a growing trend towards smaller, more intimate weddings, aka micro-weddings-that focus on personal touches and guest experience. How to Incorporate: • Curated Guest Lists:  Keep the guest list under 100 to foster a warm, personal atmosphere. This allows for meaningful interactions with each guest versus rushed, informal ones.  • Personalized Details:  Infuse your personalities into the wedding through custom vows, choreographed dances, and personalized favors that reflect your love story. • Interactive Elements:  Incorporate activities like lawn games at cocktail hour or DIY stations, encouraging guests to engage and create lasting memories. Our couples love our corn-hole boards with MR. and MRS. bean bags! 3. Vibrant and Diverse Color Palettes Monette Co. Photography While classic will always be popular, 2025 sees couples experimenting with bold and diverse color schemes to make their weddings unique. How to Incorporate: • Rich Tones:  Integrate deep blues, emerald greens, or burgundy into your design and decor for a "dark and moody" aesthetic. These colors complement the natural wood and rustic elements of barn venues like Celestial Farms. Emily Ann Photography • Seasonal Shades:  Reflect the season with appropriate colors—think pastel florals for spring or warm oranges and reds for fall weddings. But keep in mind any color can work in any season when done right. • Mix and Match:  Don’t shy away from combining unexpected colors to create a unique and modern look, a detail that is unexpected and exciting! 4. Non-Traditional Wedding Attire Brides and grooms are moving beyond traditional attire, opting for outfits that express their individual styles and personalities to create a magical day. How to Incorporate: • Alternative Dresses:  Consider wedding dresses with color accents, unique fabrics, or shorter hemlines. Jumpsuits and two-piece dresses are also gaining popularity. • Customized Suits:  Grooms can experiment with different colors, patterns, and fabrics to showcase their unique personality. • Comfort First:  Prioritize comfort to fully enjoy your day. Select attire that allows freedom of movement, and consider the weather when making your decision- especially important in a rustic, outdoor setting like Celestial Farms. 5. Immersive Entertainment Experiences Bluewater Kings Band Entertainment is becoming more interactive and personalized for 2025 weddings aiming to create unforgettable experiences for your wedding guests. How to Incorporate: • Live Performances:  Hire local musicians or bands to provide live music either at your ceremony, cocktail hour or your even your entire reception. Bluewater Kings Band made a huge impression on one of our events last season. • Themed Photo Booths:  Set up a photo booth feature that reflects your theme or style, giving guests a fun activity and memorable keepsakes to take home. Rolling Flashback Photo Bus • Unique Send-Offs:  Plan an unconventional send-off, like a fireworks display or a sparkler grand exit- my personal fave, to conclude the evening in a unique and memorable way. 6. Innovative Catering Options Couples are exploring diverse culinary experiences in 2025, moving away from traditional plated and buffet dinner options How to Incorporate: • Food Stations:  Set up stations offering various menus or interactive experiences like build-your-own taco bars, allowing guests to have fun and customize their meals and experiences. • Local Beverages:  Feature Michigan craft beers, wines and spirits to give your wedding guests a taste of local flavors. 7. Advanced Technology Integration Technology is playing a significant role in today’s weddings, from the planning process to the wedding day. How to Incorporate: • Live Streaming:  Share your ceremony in real-time with guests who couldn’t be there in person-ensuring everyone feels included which we'd be happy to set up for you. • Drones for Photography:  Capture unique aerial shots of your Michigan wedding venue and your guests, providing a fresh and fun perspective on traditional wedding photos and videography. Malcolm Cottle Media • AI Planning Tools:  Utilize AI-driven apps like Chat-GPT to streamline planning, manage your guest list, and tasks like organizing seating arrangements efficiently. 8. Weekday and Off-Season Weddings To accommodate busy schedules and reduce costs, many of our 2025 couples are opting for weekday or off-season wedding, while still receiving the same top notch services included in every wedding package. How to Incorporate: • Flexible Dates:  Consider hosting your wedding on a Thursday, Friday or Sunday, or during the winter months, when venues and vendors may offer discounts and have more availability. • Seasonal Themes:  Embrace the unique charm of off-peak seasons, such as a cozy winter wedding with warm spiked beverages and delicious comfort foods. 9. Inclusive Celebrations Weddings are becoming more inclusive, honoring diversity and acceptance.  How to Incorporate: • Inclusive Language:  Ensure all communications and ceremonies use language that respects all genders and orientations, as well as informing your venue staff on the pronouns of your guests. Inform your venue if this applies to anyone at your event. • Accessibility Considerations:  Make sure your chosen Michigan wedding venue is accessible to all guests, accommodating those with disabilities or special needs-something we've thought out carefully at Celestial Farms. Modern Farmhouse Michigan Wedding Venue Conclusion Planning a luxury barn wedding in Michigan in 2025 allows couples to blend rustic charm with modern and contemporary trends, to create a unique celebration that’s both timeless and current. By embracing sustainability, personalization, and innovative experiences, your DREAM Michigan wedding venue can reflect your unique love story. Remember, the most memorable weddings are those that authentically represent the individualism of the couple, creating a wedding experience that you and your guests will forever cherish.  Did you know…when you choose a locally owned wedding venue you are helping to develop and improve the local economy? It’s true, your locally owned wedding venues are small business owners who not only create hundreds of jobs for the local wedding industry every year, we actively support our local economy. • Stop Right There! Top 5 Wedding Planning Mistakes (and How to Avoid Them) When Searching for Wedding Venues Near ME

Planning a wedding is one of the most exciting—and sometimes the most overwhelming—chapters in your life. With Pinterest boards bursting with ideas and family and friends offering well-meaning but overwhelming amounts of advice, it’s easy to feel pulled in a hundred directions. But after hosting countless weddings here at Celestial Farms , our modern barn venue in Clio, Michigan, we’ve seen it all—and we’ve learned what works, what doesn’t, and what couples often wish they had done differently from the start. Whether you’re just getting started on your venue search or you're already deep in the planning process, we want to help you avoid common pitfalls that can add unnecessary stress, cost, and even disappointment. So if you’ve recently searched for “wedding venues near me” and found your dream venue (or are still looking), stop right there-and read this first. Here are the top 5 mistakes couples make early on in the wedding planning process—and how you can sidestep them when searching for wedding venues near me. ⸻ 1. Inviting Too Many Guests It always starts with the best intentions: you want to include everyone you love and everyone you think would appreciate an invite. But before you know it, your intimate wedding has ballooned into a guest list that looks more like a class reunion (plus one)—and the costs are exponentially climbing. Why It’s a Mistake: More guests mean more of everything—more food and drinks, more tables, more linens, more centerpieces, more time, and definitely more money. But here’s the real issue: the larger the guest count, the harder it becomes to have a personal, meaningful and stress free wedding experience with your favorite guests. Couples often tell me about their wedding day when I mention I own a venue, and they always say they barely had a moment to sit down, let alone speak to everyone they invited. At Celestial Farms in Clio, Michigan and other wedding venues near me, we’ve seen firsthand how smaller, intentional guest lists lead to more connected and enjoyable celebrations. You actually get to hug and greet everyone, enjoy your dinner, create memories and dance the night away without feeling pulled in a thousand directions. Our Advice: Start your guest list with your must-haves—immediate family, closest friends—and build out from there. Think about why each person is on your guest list. If the answer is “because my mom said so” or “they invited me to theirs,” revisit your priorities immediately. This is your day, and it should feel like you. Not a crowd you’re hosting out of obligation. ⸻ 2. Not Hiring a Day-of Coordinator This is a big one-crucial to the entire process. At Celestial Farms , we include a day-of coordinator in every wedding package, to assure every couple that celebrates with us has a stress free and memorable wedding experience from start to finish—it’s the key to making your wedding day smooth and full of joy. But not every wedding venue includes this service, so some go without and skipping it can lead to major regret. Why It’s a Mistake: Imagine this: the florist can't find the venue, the DJ is setting up on the wrong side of the barn, your aunt keeps asking where to put the programs and she can't find the table numbers, and your phone is buzzing nonstop. Meanwhile, you’re trying to stay focused and soak in one of the biggest days of your life. Not ideal, right? Without a coordinator (that understands the venue perfectly) managing vendors, sticking to the timeline, and solving problems every 5 minutes before you even know they exist, all of that stress falls on you—or worse, your mom or best friend, who just wants to enjoy the day with you but now they are completely overwhelmed. Our Advice: If your wedding venue doesn’t include a day-of coordinator (like we do at Celestial Farms ), hire one immediately. It’s one of the most worthwhile investments you can make for your wedding. A great coordinator will manage all the behind-the-scenes chaos so you can be fully present, sipping mimosas in the bridal suite and dancing with your husband at the reception—not worrying about whether the vendors are on schedule or the sparkler exit gets properly managed for the perfect shot. We can’t emphasize this enough: your peace of mind is priceless. ⸻ 3. Overdecorating (or DIY Overload) Pinterest is both a blessing and a curse. Pinterest brain is what I like to call it. It ’s full of inspiration—but it often sets unrealistic expectations because these photos were carefully staged in the perfect weather at the perfect time of day, etc. and let's not forget we have AI affecting these things now. Many couples get caught up in the DIY whirlwind early on, thinking they’ll save a ton of money by making their own centerpieces or hand-lettering 100 name cards. Others fall into the trap of buying all the things months ahead of time… only to change their minds, buy too much and waste a lot of money. Why It’s a Mistake: At Celestial Farms , our space is designed to be naturally beautiful and photo-ready—meaning you don’t need much to bring the space to life. But time and time again, we see couples stress themselves (and their wallets) out by overdecorating, DIY-ing, or investing in tons of small details that either go unnoticed or don’t match by the time the big day rolls around. There’s also the problem of storing all these items and setting them up. Who’s setting up 25 candle holders fresh out the box and 18 signs that need screws and anchors the morning of your wedding? Who’s taking it all down at the end of the night and transporting it back home? Often, it ends up being family members who should be relaxing and celebrating with you or getting home and in bed as they are exhausted. Our Advice: Rent everything you can. Borrow from your wedding venue (we offer decor options for our couples). Focus on impactful pieces, quality over quantity. And don’t commit to a decor plan too early—you’ll evolve as your vision falls into place in due time. Trust us, you’ll be grateful you didn’t buy those 45 mason jars on sale six months in advance. ⸻ 4. Not Setting a Budget This one might seem obvious—but we see it and hear about it happening all the time. Couples start booking vendors and buying a ton of things before they sit down and map out a realistic wedding budget. Then the money runs out before the dress alterations and tux rentals are due, or the dream wedding photographer is no longer an option. Why It’s a Mistake: Without a budget, it’s easy to overspend early in the planning process and scramble later. It also leads to tough choices down the line—do we cut the dessert table we spent months thinking about or skimp on the DJ? Neither option feels good when you’re already committed to both. A clear budget will give you freedom, not restriction. It allows you to make confident decisions, prioritize what matters most to you and your partner, and avoid the sinking feeling of financial regret after the honeymoon which is a horrible way to start a marriage. Our Advice: Sit down early—before booking anyone—and determine your overall budget. Then break it into categories: venue, food, attire, décor, photography, entertainment, etc. Include a “just in case” cushion for last-minute surprises and wants. And most importantly be realistic. And don't forget to ask vendors for full pricing, including taxes and service fees, so there are no surprises. At Celestial Farms , we walk couples through their budget planning if they want or need us to and help them decide where to splurge and where to save. (Spoiler alert: peace of mind and great pics are always worth it.) ⸻ 5. Letting Others’ Opinions Dictate the Day This one might be the hardest for our couples—but it’s also the most important. You’re engaged. You’re excited. You announce your wedding plans—and suddenly, everyone in your entire life has an opinion. Your mom wants you to invite all her co-workers. Your second cousin thinks your guest list is too small. Your future in-laws don’t like the idea of an outdoor wedding ceremony. The list goes on, and on, and on... Why It’s a Mistake: Letting outside voices steer your choices will leave you feeling disappointed and disconnected from your own wedding. It can cause tension between family and most importantly you and your partner, it leads to regrets, and creates rifts when expectations aren’t met. You deserve a wedding day and a wedding planning experience that feels authentic to you. Not one that looks like someone else’s dream day. Our Advice: Take a deep breath. Center yourself. And remember this: it’s your day. You can listen to advice without following it in the end. You can say “thank you” and still go a different route. Set boundaries early in the wedding planning process, especially around big decisions like venue, guest list, and structure of the day. And if family dynamics are tricky, lean on your partner and your venue or day-of coordinator to help manage conversations and logistics. We often help our couples come up with ways to tell family and friends that the venue is responsible for this or that or we only allow this or that to take the pressure off of you. The couples who have the best overall wedding experience at Celestial Farms are the ones who stay true to themselves and each other. Their weddings are filled with love, intention, and happiness—not stress or second-guessing themselves. ⸻ Let us help you plan your perfect wedding day! Planning a wedding is a journey that should be enjoyed. There will be moments of overwhelm and plenty of decisions to make—but avoiding these five common mistakes can help you stay focused, stress-free, and full of excitement for what really matters: starting your life together as a newly married couple in love. • How to Use ChatGPT to Make Wedding Planning 10x Easier

Planning your dream Michigan wedding is a beautiful journey—but let’s be honest, wedding planning can also feel like juggling on a unicycle… in high heels. But what if you had a super-smart, always-available wedding planning assistant who never gets tired of your questions? And no, I don't mean me-I am flattered you thought so though! - Jen Wilson| Owner and Coordinator, Celestial Farms Say hello to ChatGPT—your new digital maid of honor! No, it’s not replacing your wedding planner or your coordinator, your best friend, or that Type-A aunt who thrives on color coding your wedding decor boxes. Instead, it’s your behind-the-scenes powerhouse: the AI wedding planning tool that helps you breathe a little easier, stay organized, and actually enjoy the process of planning your dream day. Angela's Angles Photography Let’s dive into how engaged couples everywhere are using ChatGPT to slay their wedding planning journey—without losing their minds. "We thought Wedding Planning would be fun... then we met the Seating Chart" -Every couple that chooses assigned seating. 1. Custom Seating Chart Help (Without the Drama) You love your favorite people/ wedding guests… but let’s be real, some just shouldn’t sit next to each other. Whether it’s the two uncles fighting over politics or friends from different life chapters who mix like oil and water, your seating chart can become one of the first major wedding planning stressors. How ChatGPT can help: • Upload your guest list and a few details about each guest- and have ChatGPT group them based on relationships, interests, or social circles. Angela's Angles Photography • Avoid tension by asking it to keep certain wedding guests apart. • Create printable table diagrams or color-coded lists to visualize your layout. • Get clever suggestions for meaningful table names (based on your theme, favorite places, shared memories of your love story, etc.). Example prompt: “Help me group my 100 person guest count into 12 round tables based on their connections. Aunt Carol and Uncle John shouldn't sit together, and I want sorority friends nearest to the dance floor.” Boom—done. 2. Vendor Email Drafts That Sound Like You Tired of re-drafting the same email 12 times to your DJ, trying to sound polite, professional, and still you? ChatGPT is your expert ghostwriter, ready to draft emails that are perfectly laid out, friendly, and to the point. How ChatGPT can help: • Customize emails for florists, DJs, caterers, and more. • Attach Pinterest inspiration and ask the AI to describe your vision. • Ask it to follow up, confirm details, or negotiate politely. Example prompt: “Write an email to my florist asking if she can recreate a Pinterest bouquet I love, but make it work with my fall color palette and $800 budget.” Now you’ve got a beautifully written email that sounds like you wrote it on your best, most put-together day. Angela's Angles Photography 3. Build Your Wedding Day Timeline Without the Guesswork If you’ve ever tried to map out your wedding day minute-by-minute, you know it quickly turns into a logic puzzle. When should hair and makeup start? What time does golden hour hit? When does Grandma eat? How ChatGPT can help: • Create a personalized wedding day timeline based on your getting ready details, ceremony time, travel between locations, dinner, photo schedule, and more. • Adjust for details like first looks, private vows, family photos, outfit changes, etc. • Add buffer times to avoid feeling rushed. At Celestial Farms , Timeline Planning and Coordination is ALWAYS INCLUDED to make Wedding Planning Easy! Example prompt: “Build a timeline with an 8 a.m. venue arrival time, first look at 2:30, a 4 PM ceremony, cocktail hour under the pavilion, 6:00 dinner and sunset photos at 7:45 PM. I want two solid hours of uninterrupted dancing and a sparkler exit at 10:30.” Suddenly, timeline planning makes sense. Angela's Angles Photography 4. Break Down Your Budget Like a Pro Whether you’re working with a $10,000 or a $100,000 wedding budget, every time you cover one expense another pops up. Budgeting for your wedding can sometimes feel like pulling weeds. Every time you pull one, ten more pop up. ChatGPT brings clarity to wedding chaos. How ChatGPT can help: • Creating a budget breakdown based on your total budget and must-haves. • Allocating percentages toward your wedding venue, catering, decor, DJ, photography, etc. • Adjusting the numbers as your priorities shift and you nail down your ultimate vision. (like splurging on a live performer for your ceremony but saving on favors). • Helping you compare vendor quotes or stay under budget in any area with creative ideas. Example prompt: “I have a $25,000 overall budget. My top priorities are entertainment and photography. I’m okay with saving on decor and favors. Can you break down how much I should spend in each category?” Just like that, you get a detailed, custom budgeting plan with flexibility—and no spreadsheets were required. Angela's Angles Photography 5. Song Selector: AI as Your Wedding DJ Assistant Rodney Lamar Page , Photo by Angela's Angles Photography From walking down the ceremony aisle to your first bride and groom dance, music can be one of the most personal aspects of your wedding day. But you don’t need a Master's degree in music or 30 playlists to figure it out. How ChatGPT can help: • Suggest ceremony songs based on your personality and vibe (romantic, classic, funny, country, etc.). • Curate a list of first dance options based on favorite artists or lyrics. • Help with mother-son/father-daughter dance song choices. • Suggest playlist starters for cocktail hour under the pavilion, dinner music in the barn, or dancing under the stars. Example prompt: “I love Taylor Swift, Adele, and Patsy Cline. Can you suggest the top 5 first dance songs that aren’t overplayed but still romantic?” Get a curated list of songs that feel perfect for you—no endless scrolling and hours of listening to spotify required. 6. Wedding Checklist—Tailored to Your Style and Theme Most wedding day checklists are one-size-fits-all, but your wedding at Celestial Farms is anything but generic. ChatGPT can help you create a custom checklist based on your wedding vision. How ChatGPT can help: • Build a custom to-do list based on a Michigan summer beach wedding in Ludington vs. to-do-lists used for barn wedding venues in Michigan like Celestial Farms . • Remind you when to lock in your vendors based on your date. • Include checklists for DIY decorating vs. all inclusive destination weddings to compare. Example prompt: “Create a complete wedding planning checklist for a luxury barn wedding venue like Celestial Farms in Clio, Michigan. It's a June wedding with 150 guests, doing our own centerpieces, and renting linens from the venue.” Suddenly, your wedding planning roadmap is as unique as your love story 7. Write Your Wedding Speech (or Vows) With Heart and Confidence Public speaking isn’t for everyone—but heartfelt words are. ChatGPT can help you find the perfect balance of funny, sweet and sentimental words and speeches that still feel like you. How ChatGPT can help: • Draft heartfelt toasts, best man/maid of honor speeches, or even your private vows. • Add personal anecdotes or inside jokes to the mix. • Edit for tone—funny, romantic, spiritual, casual, whatever feels right. • Offer prompts to spark your creativity if you come to a blank. Example prompt: “Write a champagne toast speech for my best friend’s wedding. We met in college, survived a dorm together, and she once helped me move out of a toxic relationship. I want it to be heartfelt but also kind of funny.” You can then tweak the speech until it sounds like you’re speaking from the bottom of your heart… because you are. 8. Stay Organized, Calm, and Creative—All at Once ChatGPT isn’t just about logistics—it’s about staying sane. The wedding planning process can take over your life if you let it, but AI can help you take back control. Bonus ways ChatGPT can help: • Suggest signature cocktail names based on your pets, personalities, or love story. Custom Cocktails By Cheers to you Bartending and Charcuterie • Generates hashtag ideas, seating chart designs, and welcome sign wording. • Draft social media captions for save-the-dates or special announcements on wedding week. • Offer honeymoon planning tips, destinations, or romantic itinerary ideas. • Brainstorm grand entrance ideas, bridal party gifts, or decor themes. Your new mantra? Use it smart. Use it right. And slay your wedding day without losing your mind. 9. The Truth: AI Isn’t Replacing Planners—It’s Supporting Them Here’s what ChatGPT isn’t: It’s NOT a substitute for a professional (human) planner who works closely with preferred vendors, coordinates seamless and unique timelines, and is constantly saving the day on-site like when I (coordinator for Celestial Farms ) brought in my own photographer minutes before a ceremony started because my client's photographer flaked. Voyage Michigan Interview | Canvas Rebel Interview It’s NOT a substitute for human connection, empathy, or intuition when "spidey" senses kick in.. Yes, it's a thing I have at weddings. Kinda like putting a fire out before it even begins. Here’s what it is: • A 24/7 brainstorming tool. • A time-saver. • A sanity-saver. • A calm and comforting voice in a whirlwind of difficult decisions. Wedding planning and timeline planning is a breeze when couples come in a bit prepared. The Wedding of Your Dreams Is a Few Clicks Closer Keep this in mind, you don’t need to be a tech wizard to use ChatGPT—you just need to ask it the right questions. Whether you’re DIY-ing most of your wedding or working with a dream team of pros like Yolanda, Angie, Casey and I, AI can lighten the load and spark creativity. And if you’re ever feeling overwhelmed by the sea of Pinterest boards, spreadsheets, group chats, and vendor quotes—take a breath, (Call Jen)- open a ChatGPT window, and ask for help. It’s like having a calm, competent best friend who’s really good with words, super intelligent and doesn’t mind if you change your mind 15 times. So go ahead—use AI as your Wedding Planning Pro. Slay your vision. Simplify your wedding planning process. And most importantly, enjoy every moment along the way- a Celestial Farms non-negotiable rule! Angela's Angle Photography Need help crafting your own AI-powered wedding planning prompts? Drop a comment or reach out—I’ve got dozens ready to share with my clients. • How To Prepare For Michigan Tornadoes: Essential Safety Tips

🌪️ The Reality of Michigan Tornadoes Michigan experiences an average of 15 to 20 tornadoes annually, mostly during the spring and summer months. While Michigan tornadoes aren't as frequent as in some other states, they can be equally devastating and dangerous. Yesterday's severe weather events (May 2025)- serve as a stark reminder of the importance of being prepared for these sudden, often devastating events. ⸻ 📜 A Brief History of Notable Michigan Tornadoes The Flint-Beecher Tornado (June 8, 1953) From a very young age I was taught the seriousness of a tornado from my Grandma Huneycutt- a survivor of the the Flint-Beecher tornado. The Flint, Michigan tornado which struck on June 8, 1953 remains the deadliest tornado in Michigan’s history. This horrible event claimed 116 lives and injured over 800 in the Beecher district of Flint, Michigan. It was part of a larger outbreak that swept across several states leaving a trail of destruction. Because my grandmother lived through that tragedy, I was taught at an early age how to prepare for dangerous storms. To this day I can picture her anxiously watching the skies, and preparing for the worst as she waited for storms to pass. We didn't have a basement so when a tornado watch was in affect she would tuck me in a hallway closet with pillows, blankets and flashlights- a cozy little fort that felt like a fun adventure as a child who didn't fully understand the dangers outside. Then she would fill jugs and the bathtub with water, gather batteries, candles and flashlights, and prep our kerosene lamps in case we lost power. Wade and Thelma Huneycutt on their wedding day- survivors of the 1953 Michigan tornado Palm Sunday Outbreak (April 11, 1965) Another devastating day for Michigan was on April 11, 1965- when we were struck by multiple tornadoes, resulting in 53 fatalities across the state. Branch County was particularly hard-hit, with 18 total deaths. This Michigan tornado disaster led to significant changes in our warning systems. The term "tornado forecast" was changed to "tornado watch" which was more easily understood by the public. Another significant change- civil defense sirens were repurposed as outdoor warning systems which was important because many people are outside during the beautiful Michigan spring/summer season. Recent Events: May 15, 2025 Our beautiful great lake state had severe storms sweep through last night, (May 15, 2025) causing widespread damage and power outages. Approximately 240,000 Michigan residents lost power, (Celestial Farms wedding venue in Clio, Michigan was spared) with Van Buren County being among the hardest hit. The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-0 tornado near Battle Creek and an EF-1 from Charlotte to Lansing. Current reports are stating 19+ tornadoes touched down across Michigan last night and they are still investigating some areas. These storms served as a stark reminder of the lessons my Grandma Huneycutt instilled in me so many years ago. Thelma (Grandma) Huneycutt 🧠 Understanding Tornado Alerts: Watch vs. Warning • Tornado Watch : Conditions are favorable for tornadoes to form in the area. Stay alert and be prepared to take action quickly. • Tornado Warning : A tornado has been sighted or detected by radar indicating imminent danger. Seek shelter immediately without hesitation! It’s crucial to have multiple ways to receive these life saving alerts such as smartphone apps, radios and local news broadcasts to assure you receive life saving information immediately. 🛠️ Preparing for a Tornado 1. Create an Emergency Plan • Identify Safe Locations: Determine the safest place to seek shelter in and around your home, a basement is ideal or an interior room without windows. • Establish Communication: Ensure all family members know how to contact each other during emergencies and discuss a meeting place if you are separated. 2. Assemble an Emergency Kit Essential items include: • Non-perishable food and water for at least three days for the people in your home • Battery-powered radios • Flashlights and extra batteries of different kinds • First aid kit is a must • Medications for at least a few days should be stored in a backpack and personal hygiene items will be helpful too • Important documents in a waterproof container such as ID's, passports, health insurance cards, title to your home, will, etc. 3. Secure Your Property • Trim trees and remove dead branches near your home to minimize potentially dangerous debris. • Secure outdoor items that could become projectiles such as patio furniture, trampolines, etc. • Reinforce doors and windows if possible 🌀 During a Tornado • Seek Shelter Immediately: Go to your designated agreed upon safe location. • Protect Yourself: Use heavy blankets or mattresses to shield against falling debris. • Avoid Windows: Flying glass can cause serious and even fatal injuries • Stay Informed: Keep a fully charged cell phone- (extra charging banks are a great idea)- and a battery-powered radio with you to receive updates. 🧹 After the Tornado • Wait for Official All-Clear: Ensure all danger has passed before leaving your designated safe location. • Check for Injuries: Check on your loved ones and your neighbors if possible and provide first aid and/or seek medical attention if necessary. • Avoid Hazards: Watch out for deadly downed power lines, gas leaks, and structural damage. • Document Damage: Once you're safe, be sure to take photos of all damages for insurance purposes. ⸻ 📚 Resources for Further Information • Michigan State Government: Tornado Preparedness • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC): Tornado Safety • National Weather Service: Find your area Michigan tornadoes, while less frequent than other states, still pose a significant threat as we experienced last night. By understanding the risks, properly preparing, and staying informed during severe weather, you can protect yourself and your loved ones. As a wedding venue, our typical blog posts are about all things wedding, but last night’s storms felt like a powerful reminder to pause and talk about something just as important—preparedness. • Top 12 Save The Date Trends We've Seen at Wedding Venues Near Me

At Celestial Farms wedding venue in Clio, Michigan—and many other wedding venues near me—we’ve had the joy of watching couples announce their wedding dates in the most unique ways. The save-the-date is more than just a heads-up; it’s a sneak peek for your guests about your love story and the vibe of your big day. Whether you’re planning an over-the-top luxury wedding or an intimate budget friendly celebration, these top 12 save-the-date trends will help you set the tone in style. Save-the-Date Trends We Love at Wedding Venues Near Me 1. Newspaper-Style Save-the-Dates One of the most popular trends we’ve seen recently at wedding venues near me is the newspaper-style save-the-date. Whether it’s a miniature version or a full-sized newspaper layout, this idea is full of charm and personality and so easy to add loads of information. Couples often include: • A “Love Story” feature about the couple • A fun word search with the couple's names, their pets names, etc. • Venue details (like the location of our modern barn here at Celestial Farms) • Engagement photos or snapshots from the couple over the years Not only is a newspaper save the date nostalgic, but it’s also a fun and interactive keepsake your guests won’t toss. ⸻ 2. Digital Save-the-Dates (TikToks, Etsy Templates & DIY) With more couples embracing technology and looking to save money, digital save-the-dates are a big win for many reasons. Here are some ideas for your digital save the date: • Trending TikTok-style videos with voiceovers and music • Custom video templates from Etsy-almost like a mini videography movie • DIY video invites using Canva for free Here's a fun little Tiktok save the date Casey and I did for an open house at Celestial Farms Not only do these options save money on printing and postage, but they also allow you to showcase your unique personalities, your wedding venue, and even a sneak peek of your wedding theme. ⸻ 3. Keychain Save-the-Dates Keychains are small and practical, but they can be surprisingly sentimental. Imagine every time your guest grabs their car keys, they’re reminded of your big day. At several wedding venues near me, we’ve seen couples choose: • Simple engraved keychains with their names and date • Mini photo viewers with an engagement pic inside and the date on the outside ⸻ 4. Unique Paper Save-the-Dates Paper is far from boring when you think outside the box. We’ve seen styles like: • Library cards with a “check out our wedding” theme • Concert or festival ticket replicas for those couples that love music • Passports for destination weddings or couples that love travel • Scratch-offs to reveal the wedding date for those lottery loving couples We love the library card style for book loving couples.
