Just minutes from Celestial Farms Wedding Venue, the charming city of Frankenmuth, Michigan, is packed with fun experiences, family-friendly attractions, and incredible food and desserts. Known as “Michigan’s Little Bavaria,” Frankenmuth, Michigan offers tourists a unique mix of German heritage, outdoor activities, and year-round events. Whether you’re planning a weekend getaway or a day trip before or after attending a wedding at Celestial Farms, there’s something for everyone to enjoy in Frankenmuth!
Annual Festivals in Frankenmuth
Frankenmuth is known for its seasonal festivals, celebrating everything from holiday magic to car shows to snow festivals and hot air balloon festivals. No matter what time of the year you visit, there’s likely an event happening. You can check out the official Frankenmuth events calendar for the full lineup of activities and festivals.
Top Festivals in Frankenmuth:
• Frankenmuth Bavarian Festival (June 12-15, 2025): Experience an authentic German celebration with live polka music, Bavarian dancing, beer tents of course, and a grand parade.

• Frankenmuth Dog Bowl (May 24-25, 2025): The world’s largest Olympic-style event for man's best friend! This festival also coincides with Balloonfest, (May 23-26) where colorful hot air balloons soar.
• Oktoberfest (September 18-21, 2025): A German festival with a large wooden dance floor. Good food, drinks, and souvenirs. Located in the Harvey Kern Pavilion in Heritage Park.
• Snowfest (January-completed for 2025): Hosted by Zehnder’s, this annual winter festival features snow and ice sculptures- you can watch the artists create these masterpieces, hot cocoa in warming tents, and family-friendly fun.
• Auto Fest (September 5-7, 2025): A classic car show so big that it brings in car enthusiasts from all over the country.
Must-See Attractions in Frankenmuth

No trip to Frankenmuth, Michigan is complete without visiting Bronner’s CHRISTmas Wonderland—the world’s largest and most fascinating Christmas store. Spanning a whopping 1.5 football fields, Bronner’s is open (and busy) year-round, offering every Christmas decoration and theme imaginable. You can personalize ornaments, see beautiful nativity scenes, and of course holiday lights in every color. It's especially magical at Christmas time when Santa himself visits!
2. Bavarian Inn & Zehnder’s: The famous chicken dinners everyone loves!
Frankenmuth is home to two famous restaurants: Bavarian Inn and Zehnder’s of Frankenmuth, Michigan. Both restaurants are famous for their family-style chicken dinners, buttery noodles, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and mouth watering homemade bread.
• Bavarian Inn is the largest family-run German restaurant in the country.
• Zehnder’s offers a bakery in the lower level of the restaurant that has it all!
If you’re visiting with your kids, Zehnder’s Splash Village is one of the funnest things to do in Frankenmuth Michigan. It's a must-see indoor waterpark with big slides, a lazy river, and a giant splash pad for the tots. Perfect for any season!
Hey all you craft beer lovers, you have to stop at Frankenmuth Brewery—Michigan’s oldest microbrewery. You can enjoy their award-winning Oktoberfest Lager, delicious German-inspired food, and a stunning riverfront view.

If you're looking for a more modern, upscale experience, Prost Wine Bar & Charcuterie offers delicious craft cocktails, fine wines, and curated charcuterie boards. It’s a perfect spot for a date night or a relaxed afternoon with your friends.
One of my personal favorite romantic things to do in Frankenmuth, Michigan is taking a horse-drawn carriage ride through the city. Fantasy Carriage Company and Frankenmuth Carriage Company offer comfortable and peaceful rides past historic buildings, teaching their guests some history along the way, making it perfect for date night or a family-friendly experience.
For all the thrill-seekers out there, Frankenmuth’s Adventure Park has zip lines and rope courses throughout a serene and scenic wooded area. Whether you’re a first timer or an experienced climber, it’s an exciting way to enjoy the outdoors.
Do you enjoy camping? Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park is a family-friendly campground in Frankenmuth offering cabins, tent camping sites, and RV hookups. Kids always love the waterslides, themed weekend activities, and of course the character meet-and-greets with Yogi Bear himself.

If you love shopping, boutiques, and sweet treats you’ll adore River Place Shops—a Bavarian-style shopping mall filled with specialty stores, desserts, and unique gifts. While you’re there, don’t miss Celestial Farms' preferred vendor- SugarHigh Bakery, Cupcake Wars-winner known for its delicious cupcakes, macarons, custom cakes and wedding cakes!
