Garden Wedding Venues in Michigan
When we first started talking about adding another ceremony location at Celestial Farms wedding venue in Clio, Michigan, we didn't want to create just another place to put chairs. We wanted it to feel like it belonged here. Celestial Farms has always been about the estate itself. Yes, we have a beautiful barn, but there is so much more to this place. We are proud to be amongst the best garden wedding venues in Michigan. We have the woods, the water, the open spaces, the gardens, the trees, and all of those little areas that couples fall in love with when they spend time here.
When we started working on our newest ceremony location, the goal was simple: create a beautiful outdoor space where couples could have the fairytale garden wedding they've been dreaming of, while still having everything that makes Celestial Farms a full-service wedding venue.
And now that it is coming together, I am so excited to finally share it.

A New Garden Ceremony Location at Celestial Farms Wedding Venue
One of my favorite things about our Michigan wedding venue is that no two weddings have to look exactly the same. Some couples want to get married in the woods. Some want the ceremony near the waterfall. Some want to get married inside our modern farmhouse barn. Some love the pavilion. And now we have another option that I think is going to become a favorite: our new garden ceremony space. It has a completely different feel.
It is romantic and natural without being overly formal. It gives you that beautiful outdoor ceremony setting without feeling like you are simply standing in an open field. The garden setting gives us the opportunity to bring in more flowers, greenery, arches, aisle arrangements, candles and other details while still allowing the natural surroundings to be part of the design. And honestly, that is what I love about it. You don't have to do a million things to make it beautiful. The setting does the work for you.
Why We Wanted Another Ceremony Location
When you own a Michigan garden wedding venue, you start looking at your property differently. You are constantly thinking about how a couple is going to experience the property on their wedding day. How it can be transformed to fit their dream wedding vision.
Where will they first see each other?
Where will guests sit?
Where will the bride walk from?
Where will the photographer stand?
Where will the couple go after the ceremony?
How will guests move from the ceremony to cocktail hour?
What happens if it rains?
What will this look like in May compared to October?
Those are the things that go through my head. We've learned a lot over the past 4, almost 5 years from hosting weddings. One thing I know for sure:
Couples want choices. Not 15 different packages and confusing options. Just beautiful spaces that allow them to make their wedding day feel like their own.
Our new garden ceremony location gives couples one more way to do that.
The Garden Wedding Look Is Here to Stay
Garden wedding venues have become extremely popular, and I completely understand why. There is something about getting married outside surrounded by nature, flowers and greenery that just feels different. It doesn't have to be a formal English garden. It doesn't have to be over-the-top. A garden wedding can be modern, romantic, simple, colorful, elegant or even a little wild. That's one of the reasons I wanted our new ceremony space to be flexible. I don't want every wedding here to have the same arbor with the same flowers and the same chairs. I want to see what our couples do with it. One couple may bring in incredible floral installations. Another may want a simple ceremony with a few beautiful arrangements. Someone else may line the aisle with fabric. Another couple may decide that the natural setting is enough. That's the fun part.

A Michigan Garden Wedding Venue Comes With One Small Problem..
Michigan weather.
If you've planned a Michigan wedding, you know exactly what I'm talking about. You can have sunshine in the morning and a storm rolling in by dinner. And let's not even talk about trying to predict Michigan weather months in advance. That's why I will never tell a couple that their entire wedding depends on having perfect weather. At Celestial Farms, we always have a BEAUTIFUL Plan B!
Our couples can dream about their outdoor ceremony without having to panic every time the forecast changes. If the weather is beautiful, we can enjoy the outdoor spaces. If Mother Nature has other plans, we have indoor and outdoor covered options. That is an important part of choosing a wedding venue, especially when you are planning an outdoor or garden wedding. You want the beauty of an outdoor ceremony, but you also want the security of knowing someone has already thought through what happens if it rains. We've thought about it.
Michigan Wedding Venues With More Than One Look

I think this is one of the biggest things that makes Celestial Farms wedding venue different.
When you pull into the property, you aren't looking at one building and one ceremony space. You have 20 acres to work
with. There are different areas throughout the property, and each one has its own personality. The barn has one look. The woods have another. The water gives you something completely different.
And now the garden ceremony space adds another option. That means your wedding can have multiple looks throughout the day without ever leaving the property. Your photographer can use the gardens, the trees, the water, the barn and the surrounding property for portraits. Your ceremony can have one atmosphere.
Cocktail hour can feel completely different. Then your reception can transition into the evening inside the barn. It makes the wedding feel like an entire experience rather than one room that you decorate for eight hours.
Why We Love the Detroit Area Couples Who Find Us
We are located in Clio, but we have couples come to us from all over Michigan, including many from the Detroit area. One of the things I hear from couples over and over is that they want to be close enough for their family and friends to easily get to the wedding, but they don't necessarily want to have their wedding in the middle of the city. They want a little more space, a little more privacy, and somewhere that feels like an escape for the day. That's one of the things I love about Celestial Farms. You can be close to Detroit and still have 20 acres of trees, gardens, water and open space surrounding you. It gives you that destination-wedding feeling without asking your guests to travel hours away. For couples looking for a Detroit wedding venue but wanting something more natural and relaxed, Clio gives you the best of both worlds. With tons of nearby accommodations options for your guests.

Your Ceremony Becomes Part of the Wedding story
When I think about the new garden wedding ceremony space, I don't just think about how it will look while everyone is sitting in their chairs. I think about everything that happens around the ceremony and all of the photographs that come from those moments. Your photographer might capture your grandparents talking together before the ceremony begins, your bridal party waiting just out of sight, your dad seeing you for the first time, or the look on your partner's face when you finally walk down the aisle. Those are the photographs that become part of your family's history, and I love that the new garden setting gives photographers another beautiful backdrop for all of those moments.

One of the biggest advantages of getting married at Celestial Farms wedding venue at 3116 E. Vienna Rd. in Clio, Michigan is that you don't have to leave the property to find those beautiful photographs. The gardens, woods, water, open spaces and barn all give your photographer different settings to work with throughout the day. We can move from the ceremony into portraits and then into cocktail hour and the reception without putting everyone in cars and driving around town looking for the next location. It keeps the day moving, but it also gives your photographer plenty of variety.
We Don't Just Rent You the Property
Of course, having a beautiful property is important. That's one of the reasons our couples choose Celestial Farms in the first place. But after doing this for years, I've learned that:
The wedding venue itself is only part of the wedding experience. The service you receive and the people taking care of you throughout the day matter just as much.
That's why coordination is such a big part of what we do at Celestial Farms. We're here throughout the wedding day helping with setup and takedown, directing guests, working with vendors and keeping everything moving according to the timeline. There are always little things that happen at a wedding that nobody plans for. A vendor needs something, a guest doesn't know where to go, something needs to be moved or a timeline needs to be adjusted by a few minutes. Those things happen at almost every wedding. Our job is to handle them without making them your problem.
That's exactly what we want. You shouldn't spend your wedding day worrying about whether a vendor arrived, whether the chairs are where they need to be or what is happening in the next room. You should be enjoying the fact that you're married. Let us worry about the other stuff.

One Wedding Per Day Matters
We also only host one wedding per day, and I think that makes a bigger difference than people sometimes realize. When you get married at Celestial Farms, we're focused on your wedding from the time we begin getting ready for the day until the last part of the celebration is finished. You're not sharing the property with another wedding, and we're not trying to turn the space over for another couple a few hours later.
That gives us the flexibility to really make the property yours for the day. It also gives you more freedom with your timeline and allows the wedding day to feel less rushed. You have time decorate, relax, to enjoy your ceremony, spend time with your family, take photographs and actually be present instead of constantly thinking about what has to happen next.
If you've been looking for a Michigan wedding venue, especially one where you can have a garden wedding while still having the comfort of an indoor reception space, I really think you should come see Celestial Farms in person. Pictures are great, but they don't completely capture what it feels like to walk around the property.

Come see our new ceremony location and stand where you could actually exchange your vows. Walk through the gardens and the woods, see the water, look at the barn and visit the getting-ready spaces. Take your time and picture what your own wedding day could look like here.
I think that's one of the most important parts of choosing a wedding venue. You shouldn't just like the pictures online. You should be able to walk onto the property and actually picture yourself here with your family and friends. You should be able to imagine the ceremony, the photographs, cocktail hour, dinner and dancing all happening in the same place.
And just as importantly, you should feel comfortable with the people who will be taking care of you. A wedding venue is a big investment, and you want to know that the people behind it are going to care about your wedding as much as you do.
Another Chapter for Celestial Farms
Celestial Farms has changed quite a bit since we first started. What began as a horse farm has grown into a wedding venue that has become a huge part of our lives, and every year we find another way to improve the property or make the experience better for our couples.
The new garden ceremony space is part of that continued evolution. It's another option for couples who want something different, another beautiful place to get married and another part of the property that we get to watch become part of people's stories.
That's really what I love most about this business. We don't just get to build and improve a property. We get to watch people make memories here. We get to see the same spaces look completely different from one wedding to the next, depending on the couple, the season, the flowers and all of the little details they bring with them.
If you've been dreaming about a garden wedding venues, we'd love to show you the new ceremony space. If you're searching for a Michigan wedding venue with room to spread out and multiple ceremony options, come walk the property. And if you're looking for a Detroit wedding venue that gives you that feeling of getting away without having to travel hours from home, we would love for you to come see what Celestial Farms is all about.
The new ceremony space is just one more reason to come visit.
